Here’s a piece I think a LOT of us can relate too. Thanks to Poongan.

To let go doesn’t mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, it’s the realization that I don’t control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try change or blame another, I can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own
outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more…

Have a blessed weekend and see you when I get back from my (official) well-deserved LONG holiday! I’ll be back with lotsa & lotsa pictures and stories for sure!! See you after 6/11/2005.

Be good, be safe…and…..

 HAPPY DEEPAVALI & SELAMAT HARI RAYA!!!

Yes, I officially flew out of Kuching at 6.20pm, well….make that 6.30pm coz it was slightly delayed but still not too bad.

The flight was good, thank goodness!! I?ve had enough HORRID flights to last me a lifetime, I could really do with one less horrid experience. The best thing was……the dinner was GOOD!!! Very rare but damn, that fish was GOOD!! Yes, I?ve come to realize that I love food….this is NOT suppose to happen to one who constantly ‘plans? and sadly, fails each and every time she tried to diet. So, I?ve decided to fug it and live life to the fullest. Eat and be merry, I shall save my tum-tum when I?m 6 ft under. My tummy can rest then, and until that time comes, eat I shall.

Came home at about 11.30pm coz we (My aunt, uncle, mum & cousin ~ helluva welcome back party, don?t you think??) were a little hungry and I was DYING for a proper teh tarik! Lol…. can?t blame a teh tarik addict if I haven?t gotten the RIGHT dosage right?

Hmmm….good to be home but will be on the move again.

And it was wee hours in the morning when THIS had to happen to me….aiyooo!

Being the second last day for me here in Kuching, I finally found *SOME* time to blog (Obviously!) and comment more. Heh. Good leh…training at work is also almost done, so that?s good. Today, I had vegetarian food instead. Yes, yes…I know I love meat and all but remember that I am not fussy and I DID have ‘meat? ok? I had vegetarian pork. Lol….didn?t taste good though. I think when eating vegetarian foods, just stick to the veggies ~ they taste the best. Really….:???:

Later that evening, after work D took me to have dinner at Alice Road. Here, I had the privilege to try bidin. It looks like this and taste quite nice too although I think it would have been better if cooked with belacan (shrimp paste). I also had some weird looking shells which D says looks like cicak (lizard). I don?t see it but I loved it!! Heh. Note : Found out that that shell thingy is called Bamboo Shell ~ look like cicak meh???, anyway, makes a whole lot of sense.

Got back to hotel and Hedo (Yes, she really is a great host. Woman, don?t the ngegeh too much ok? Lol!!) fetched me at about 9pm and we went to have …..TEH TARIK!!! Yes, yes….I KNOW I said that I?d stay clear of the teh tariks in Kuching but I couldn?t help it!! :???: I just HAD to try it out once. Sorry, once again no pix coz #1. I forgot to bring my cam and #2. Hedonistic Anon wants to be ANONYMOUS. So, no pic….sorry!! But I can describe it to you though. It came in a huge mug with LOTS of bubbles or foam (whatever you wanna call it). It?s not like the bubbles you get here in Kulim, those are REALLY huge and coarse but these were FINE bubbles….VERY different. Maybe (HOPEFULLY) made with a blender so much so that Hedo says that some of her friends call it teh-puccino. Surprisingly, I have to agree ~ looks like cappucino, well….TEH-pucino. It had 3 layers which consist of first, the foam then the tea and finally the milk. This was SO not what I expected. I thought it would come to me MIXED. But s?ok…something different. I have to say that I prefer normal teh compared to teh tarik in Kuching coz its TOO milky for me. I hope and pray that the bubbles were made with a blender ~ PLEASE let it be the blender!!!!!!

After saying our teary (Not really lar, just wanted to sound dramatic) good byes, I was so dreading packing my bags coz it means that I was coming home. Sigh. Although I missed home and all, I was also going to miss great company. It?s not like this in Kulim at all. I don?t really have friends to hang out with in Kulim and most nights I?m just home and online. My night life has somehow been revolving around the internet ever since I started working and living in Kulim. It was a whole different story when I was in Penang. Sigh…those were the days. Anyway…..life goes on.

Time flew by today. This time around, I skipped the second brekkie the guys offered me. I had to save some space for lunch. And when lunch time approached, I was SO hungry that I think I could literally eat a horse! We went to the same stall selling kolo mee and stupid me just HAD to have that kolo mee lar coz I so love the mince meat and THAT itself was a BIG mistake. Sigh. Because lots of people order that for lunch, my portion took some time to come and I regretted not going for the economy rice!! Lesson learnt and will not be repeated tomorrow. Not only did my kolo mee come late, I was cheated off my mince meat ~ I didn’t get ANY!!!!!!  So bad…..at least I got meat balls though so it wasn’t that bad, but still bad, ok? Yes, people…I am a meaty person coz I LOVE MEAT. Yum!! The guy in the next table came long after me and he got prawns in replacement of the meat balls I think!! Bbbwaaaaahahahahaha….lucky I came earlier!

Time spent in the office zipped past SO fast that I didn’t know it was time to go home! I got ready, and then Melancholy and Hedo fetched me and off we went to Little Boy. Now, Little Boy is NOT the name of the shop, merely what they call this place because there really is this little boy (who we think could be the kolo mee lady’s son) who has this pair of droopy eyes, that sleepy kinda look, unusual but not uncommon, can say cutelar. Anyway, Hedo swears (Did you, woman? Cannot remember leh…) that I MUST check out this scrumptious pig innards soup thingy. Remeber that kuay chap? This is BETTER anytime!!!

The minute I saw what they had to offer, I wish I could just pao ka liow (grab) everything!!! Aiyooo….they had SO many things to choose from that I just didn’t know how or when to stop!! It was simply insane….it really felt like as if I was in food heaven or something. *Sighs blissfully* I got to pick whatever I liked, however much I wanted. Now if that isn’t heavenly, I don’t know what is!!! I truly support Hedo’s recommendation and the mee kosong, aiyoo…..sedapnyer (delicious)!!! You’ll just have to try it, to know it.

After dinner, God and his friend dropped by but decided to go for dinner before meeting up with us at Frappe. I don’t know WHERE I found space in my packed tum-tum to stuff bits of Melancholy’s cheese cake, this cute Snow White thingy (it’s SOMETHING like pudding or cream, diced and coated with coconut) and a Mango milkshake look alike thingy, but I DID! See what I mean when I say, ‘There goes my diet’?? *Shakes head* Amazing how the human body adapts itself where food is concerned. Well, I think more of MY body lar…can’t really generalize it, right? After God and friend joined us again, the cake was all gone so we just had our drinks and by the time we finished laughing our asses off talking about everything under the sun from affairs of the heart to tattoos, to nipple pinching and piercing to how ngegeh God is….it was time to go home.

Time sure flies when you’re having fun and don’t need to think about work the next day. Blek!

Hedo said that it would take more than ½ hour to get to my office from my hotel due to the traffic whereas my colleague tells me that it takes just some 10 to 15 minutes ~ lesson learnt, listen to people who WORK in the office and take their advice. I was SO afraid of being late on my first day at the office that I had rushed through my brekkie and left the hotel by 7.20am, JUST IN CASE. I think I didn?t even have time to put my sunnies on when the cab turned in to the drive way of my office and the time was only 7.30am. Haiyoolaaa…… D told me that some people would be in the office early but I OBVIOUSLY even beat the earliest guy in the office. Haha!! LS came in ‘early? as usual and was shocked that I was there earlier than him. I bet he didn?t expect it at all.

Boss came in at about 8.30am and sat me down, said he wanted to discuss something with me. He actually scared the bejeebers out of me when he called me into the meeting room. He looked so serious.

Do you know what if feels like when your GM sings you praises and makes you the benchmark of his expectations? O M G…….it feels damn bloody good I tell you!!!! He was telling how my GM was happy with my performance at work (Yippee!!) and how he wants the new girl to adopt my style of doing things. In another words, I?m here in Kuching to ensure that she follows my work style. FUHYOOO!!! Like so dahsyat only lar…..I hope you don?t think I?m blowing my trumpet coz, MAN….I am now so bloody proud of myself and even if you THINK I am blowing my own trumpet, I dun care lar. I feel GOOD! :cool:And that is all that matters at this moment. Heh.

The guys at the office took me for my SECOND brekkie for the day and I had kolo mee. It?s pretty much noodles with lots of mince meat ~ YUM!! It was really nice, that I have to admit. Guys at MY office (in Kulim) kept telling me that the teh tarik is not as nice here, but after reading this, I?ve REALLY and STRICTLY steered clear of ANYTHING that is tarik so although I still have my daily cuppa (of tea), it?s not tarik, just normal teh. The tea here seem to taste fine to me, but since I?m not really THAT fussy when it comes to tea, as long as it?s not them instant 3 in 1 ones, it?s all good. Although the only difference I noticed is that the tea itself is thicker here, leaving a rather kelat (I think it’s like bitter-ish, don’t really know the EXACT word for this.) after taste, as compared to Kulim where there is a little bit more milk-ish and sweeter. Which is the reason why I normally ask for teh tarik kurang manis (teh tarik with less sugar) when I?m at home, at the mamak stalls.

Speaking of mamak stalls, I was SO surprised that there isn?t a single mamak stall NOR an Indian restaurant within sight, in Kucing town. At least, I haven?t noticed them all the days I have been here. It?s only now I realize that I haven?t even seen a single Indian in Kuching either, except the one I see everytime I look in the mirror!! It?s REALLY bizarre…..

After work, Hedo fetched me and we went to eat kuey chap (FINALLY!!) at this place called Petanak. Sorry, no pictures BUT if you really want to see, it looks like this. As a matter of fact, this is the SAME stall I went to too. I?ll have to add that this dish doesn?t sit well with EVERYONE. If you?re like me (I?d eat anything living under the sun once, except doggies, just so I know I didn?t miss out on anything good. Hey, you live only once and life is short. Eat on and be merry, I say!!), then this is something you should not miss out on. While we (Hedo, God & I) were having our food, Melancholy showed up. That was the first time I met God (Goodness gracious, that?s scary innit? Saying ‘First time I met God.?) and Melancholy. And even though it was our FIRST meeting, I felt really accepted in to the group and felt like as if I knew them for a long time. I?ve kinda come to the conclusion that Kucing-ians (Correct ka this one?) are really nice people. Either THAT or this crazy lot is just the best & happening Kucing-ians I know lar. Haha!

After chit-chatting about everything under the sun, Hedo sent me back to the hotel at about 11.30pm and we made plans to have dinner the next day at Little Boy for the (or more so Hedo?s recommended) authentic kolo mee. Double YUMMY!!!

Can’t wait! Can’t wait!!!!!
