Guess what folks…? TGIF!!!
Welcome to another edition of Yvy’s Fancy Friday weekend kick off!!!
Today’s shots are of yours truly getting my first ever tattoo (which won’t be the last, that I assure you!). My baby was ‘born’ on 18/9/2004 ~ a birthday present from me to ME!

The beginning of the outline of my design

Outlining the design

Outline done and getting ready for the ink fill. (Yes, that IS blood.)

Getting filled with ink

YAY!!! :mrgreen:Tattoo’s done!!
My skin has been ‘deflowered’.
(My skin no more virgin liow.)
Special thanks goes to the artist, Rocky who has a shop in Pragin Mall, Penang. Sorry I forgot the name of the shop but if you frequent Pragin Mall, Penang often enough, I’m sure you know his face. ~ Damn, he should be giving me a free tattoo or at the very least, a free piercing for this FREE publicity!!
Does anyone know what my design is all about?
No prizes for guessing but I’d say you’re a genius if you can figure it out coz so far, only ONE person got it right on the first guess.
Now, I know the first thing you guys are gonna ask me is : Pain or not?
What would you say if I had to puncture your skin superbly fast between 50 to 3,000 times per minute?
To tell you frankly - YES, it does hurt although it IS bearable. Then again, PAIN is relative and if your threshold is as high as mine, then it should be a breeze.
Some sincere advice to those who are thinking about GETTING a tattoo done, I would like you to read some (rather long) links and also check out Hanzi Smatter coz he’s DAMN good at pointing out mistakes people make, which they do not realise until it’s TOO late. Remember, tattoos are for life. Getting a tattoo lasered off hurts a whole LOT worst than getting it on.
Must reads :
When ‘love hurts’ becomes ‘love ouch’.
Why you need to think twice about getting inked….
Hanzi Smatter
For those who are concerned about religion like myself (I did my homework and so should you) - Does God hate your tattoos?
How tattoos work & how tattoos are removed
Have a good weekend!!
No barrier where love is concerned but I think this is such a waste of
MONEY!!!

Wow… what a beautiful tattoo!!! I wont dare to make a tattoo on myself, not because of the pain though, but it is more because “tattoos are for life”
by Yvy, on December 16 2005 @ 9:35 am
Selba :
Thank you! Yes, I understand what you’re saying. It isnt for everyone and it is a life time commitment - just like what a marriage should be.

by L B, on December 16 2005 @ 11:47 pm
opps, posted at wrong blog!
by simple american, on December 17 2005 @ 12:32 am
Huh! Pretty creative, the name and all. I tot it was an Indian Goddess (cannot remember her name at moment)
Tattoos are not my thing. When I was in the army if you had two or more tattoos, they considered you mentally unstable and would not give you higher security clearances. Ha.
I went with one of my infantry buddies to a tattoo parlor. He had a tattoo of the Reaper inked on his arm. It was all the more special when he added the name of his wife upon the Reaper’s blade. Hope they’re still married.
He griped all night about the pain. Wished he had not done it. By morning time he was talking about getting another. lol
So how many tattoos do you have mui. (Not a question regarding your mental stability. keke)
by simple american, on December 17 2005 @ 2:17 am
Oh YvY. I have just tagged you. It’s a short tag not too bad.
by Yvy, on December 17 2005 @ 9:24 pm
Simple : Haha!! That’s what I thot too. Half way through, I though I could do with just the outline but the pain was still bearable. I think the healing is the one which is quite irritating. Scabs at the end n you CAN’T peel the skin off, that is just such a ‘toot’.
Jacy : Hey you!! Thanks for dropping by & for the compliment. Well, at the moment I have 11 piercings on my ears (8 on right & 3 on left)& 2 on my nose (both on the left). I used to have a navel piercing but it didnt work out.
How abt you? What kind of body art u have on?
LB : Dun liddat lar…;)
JoeC: Ha HA HA! Very funny…;)
Dee : Hehehe….it’s part & parcel of the experience. If you REALLY wanna get one done with minimal pain, I suggest somthing of a medium size just above ur waist on either the left or right side where there is more flesh than bone. That would hurt a little les..
LB & Simple : MEME ATTACK!!! Oy…
by jacy, on December 19 2005 @ 1:25 am
Hehe, just 2 piercings onli on my ear ;left n right. I hv low threshold of pain. But i’m thinking of piercing my eyebrow. Watdaya think? Just for fun cuz, wat the heck, i onli live to be 20 once.
by Yvy, on December 19 2005 @ 8:16 am
Jacy : Well, I wont deny the fact that I was exactly like you, hence the 13 piercings. I do not regret them n thank goodness it doesnt bother my boss either. But the thing is, anything pierced on the face is VERY noticeable and bound to attract attention. unless you’re doing this coz u’re 20 then by all means go ahead. but do think twice abt going for an interview with it. coz it would be a waste to go through the pain and healing process & money spent to just remove it after a few years. be also prepared to have a scar there of course.
my nose has 2 xtra holes now when i remove my piercings for my facial. LOL!! =P
by Yvy’s Cozy Corner » Excruciating pain, on December 19 2005 @ 3:35 pm
[...] What’s the worst thing you ever did to your body? To be frank (jokes aside), I love my body and I would in no way, hurt it deliberately. Thus meaning that I do not scar myself (with razor blades and fire and what nots), I get other people to professionally pierce and ‘scar’ it for me. After all, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and when I look in the mirror; my tattoo(s) is what I call a thing of beauty, a piece of art on a human canvas. Now, how many of you have suffered excruciating pain for the sake of beauty? Ai sui mya pasai lar, semua pun boleh jadik! (For the sake of beauty, anything goes!) [...]
by vinzer, on May 15 2006 @ 1:51 pm
dang.. now that’s a lot of piercings.. LOL
rakenroll! \m/
