The past few times I made my way back to my hometown in Kluang, I had always missed the chance of having one of my favourite breakfast there, the all famous Kluang Railway Station Roti Bakar [Toasted Bread].
Kluang may be a small town right smack in the middle of Johor but it has a very well known railway line where this famous coffee shop is located.

A couple of views of this coffee shop. Throngs of people come by daily and it’s ALWAYS busy from the moment the doors are open till they close. You can see the queue of people waiting for a seat. There is small open air space at the side but it’s not as comfy as inside of course ~ hot mar…

 THIS is the famous roti bakar [toasted bread] with homemade kaya & butter, paired with their just-as-famous coffee. See the butter and kaya oozing out?  BEST!!
It’s amazing how long people are willing to wait to have the coffee and bread. My cousin and I waited nearly 1/2 hour before a seat became vacant. Thankfully, the people in Kluang are slightly courteous and did not cut into our queue. Everyone kept to their queue which was somewhat of a miracle to me.

A pix of me and Gabriel, a childhood pal’s son. Love the classic Coconut Tree hairstyle. It will never be outdated!
Here are some shot Sis took while we were at the stable at UTM. I couldnt resist feeding the horses there.
Don’t mind the overdressing bit, we went there directly after receiving her scroll and the studio snapping session.

Me feeing Billy, he’s skinny here as he wasn’t feeling well for sometime.

Me being pally with Teruna, he kind of ‘blessed’ my hand with his booger when he did that thing horses like to do…can’t explain it but I think you know what I mean. It’s like a sneeze but not really….

Any idea why there are horses in UTM? What is the purpose? For experiments or just being part of UTM budget?

Wuching : Alamak!! It’s a BOY lar. Gabriel…lol  But dun worry, u’re not the first lar…
Visi : Hahaha…yar, actually this is the same day as the convo.
Pelf : Aiyo, even if I wanted to, tak boleh lar. My hair too thin and limp.
Plink & Consuela : I BET all of us had a pix or 2 in this hairstyle. Gerenti mya….
Aida : Aduhai….this one right after Sister’s convo lar…takkan I wan to go back change n then come all the way just to take pic?
BJ : Part of their kokurikulum? UTM budget lar…plus they have won a number of awards and medals too.
Sis won 2 so far.
Khor : No, not a whinny….like a ‘hhuuuuurooofsh’. ANd not to worry, I’m not actually a fan of being ON a horse, I prefer to b on the ground.

oh ho ho so this is the much-talked abotu Kluang roti station eh? Was wondering if it’s good as it’s hyped up to be. Ok, next stop on my list of to-eats

Oooh I love horsies! I wanna learn how to ride. *pouts* Msia doesn’t have enough of this sport.
by Sweetest Sin, on September 8 2006 @ 5:30 pm
Lux : I personally think it’s a very $$ hobby and I kesian the horse lar, kena whip n all…
I dun particularly like horse racing or horse-riding. But that’s just me lar.
Bunny : I cant comment abt the branches in KL lar but the one in Kluang is not as good as it used to be. Those days the bread was charcoal toasted…now use mesin….so it’s not as good as it used to be but still good lar.

hei i come from plink! liked the pic on the horses. the last time i patted a horse was when i visit tanjung rambutan totalisator club.
by luxferi, on September 9 2006 @ 1:23 pm
No no… not racing. I’m talking about caring for the horses in the stable and take them out daily for exercise, etc. OK, maybe I live in idealistic world where horsies are concerned, but DAMN, horses are nice!

The bread pieces look interesting. Every piece appears to be the end of a loaf, suggesting that the bread used is not a huge loaf of 20 slices, but a flat bun of 2 slices.
The manufacturing processes must be a bit more time/resource consuming. Very remarkable.
Now if i ever visit Kluang I’d …

There’s a Kluang Railway Station Roti Bakar at Ikano Power Centre, Mutiara Damansara. Not sure whether it’s open by the same owner.
Hahaha my grandma used to tie my hair like that ‘coconut style’ when I was small.
