The grass is always green on my side.

It’s far too soon!

Bugger….I can’t believe how time flies! I’ll be leaving for new pastures, day after tomorrow…that’s like THIS Saturday. WAaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! :crying: As excited as I am to see Ted, I think a huge piece of my heart will be left in ulu Kulim. In fact, it’ll be dragging along the runway as the plane lifts off and my heartstrings will be streched beyond imagination and then snap my heart back to Penang. WAaaaaaaaaaa!!! :crying:

I can’t believe I have to say good bye to my sambal belacan, nasi lemak, teh tarik, kuih lopis [Glutinous rice patty coloured bright green, coated with grated coconut and served with gula melaka syrup.], lontong [A rich Malay dish featuring rice cakes served with vegetable coconut-based gravy.] and most importantly [and totally unrelated to this group], my family. *sigh* O, the woes of marrying one from a distant land. I can’t even balik rumah mak [return to Mum's place] if I want to merajuk [throw a put on tantrum, Malay lingo and hard to explain in English]. *sigh sigh*

O well, life goes on and as my new heading says, ‘The grass is always green on my side.’ It’s going to be a tough time for me but I’m gonna ride the wave, come hell or high water simply because I got me a gentle giant to break my fall [IF I fall that is].

Mum had a farewell BBQ last night for me. Had some family members over and close friends too. Those are coming as soon as I get my pix uploaded and definitely before I leave. But for now, time to get ready as I’m headed to Penang to collect my ‘birthday’ pressie from my Credit Card company which I was suppose to the other day, collect my flight tix and then hop over to the branch where I got my credit card from and cancel it. Smart leh…..

Please…..:praying: no jams today! :praying:

Ang Lee & crew

Sorry, I dont have any sneak peaks nor pix of Ang Lee’s latest movie ‘Lust, Caution’ [Se Jie in Mandarin] but I just wanted to answer SG’s question. Ang Lee spent about 2 weeks or more in Malaysia shooting his latest production. He and his crew were mainly in Ipoh and Penang and that was when I bumped into the massive jam. I believe he’s already left for HK to continue the filming.

There isn’t much talk about this movie yet except that “Lust, Caution,” is an espionage thriller set in WWII-era Shanghai. Among the stars are Chih-ying Chu, Tony Leung, Lee-Hom Wang and also Joan Chen if I’m not mistaken.

Well, SG…hope that answered your question. :battlingeyelashes:

I suddenly realise that I owe someone a meme! :suprised:  Sorry it took so long Plinky, but here is it now.

Six random things about moi.

1. I’m very observant so don’t think I didn’t notice that new pimple on your forehead and what you wore lastweek when I met you for teh tarik.

2. I have a photographic memory ~ even if I don’t know who you are, I can still recognise you if I met you at another place, at another time.

3. I’m an attention seeker!!! So show me some luuuuurve….

4. Blood and gore don’t scare me but seeing people in pain get me all faint and floozy.

5. Sometimes I’m a ‘Kancil’ on the road [small and timid] other times, Ted will say his prayers out loud. :smug:

6. I never turn memes away. No matter how lame some of them can get! :silly:

Now, tis my turn to strike….[dunno if many have done this or not but here goes anyway] :

1. Lux [another kawan who's never turned a meme away]
2. Vien
3. Sming
4. Ash
5. Chiwi
6. Mama Bok

O, if this goes through ~ a BIG BIG thank you to Consuela who took some time off to share this feature with me. Yeslar, I’m a bit of a bodoh sometimes….but thank god for wonderful friends like Consuela. *grins with lotsa lurve*

Loss for words…

I thought I had nothing in mind to blog about today and THEN, I suddenly remembered what happened to me yesterday. Talk about an extremely short memory span! *Aiyo*

Anyway, I especially made a trip to Penang yesterday with the sole purpose of collecting my birthday gift from Pragin Mall ~ given by my credit card company lar. [In case you are wondering when my birthday is....remember 22 Sept, just 10 days from today. Even if you weren't wondering, you now know. Hehehe....] But my memory failed me and just as I was reaching the ferry terminal, I realised that I left it at home. *Kicked self repeatedly* So I decided to do the next best thing ~ go collect my flight ticket.

My agent is located near the ferry terminal on Penang Island. Just take the second left turning after the traffic lights and you’re there. BUT no thanks to Ang Lee and his crew:grouch:, they blocked up just that portion of road before my turning thus, causing a massive jam on both sides of the road. :grrr: :grrr:
Me, being no expert with Penang roads decided to be a heroine and try my luck turning into lanes I thought would somehow miraculously lead me to Church Street [where my agent is]. Problem was that all the roads kind of lead to the main road and THAT’S where the main jam is! :grrr: So I finally gave up and went shopping at Penang Plaza since I had nothing better to do. Poor Mum and Lorraine…followed me all the way from Kulim and all we did in Penang was have lunch at Swatow Road [food is DAMN good there!] and some shopping. Sad wei….

But at least I got one thing done before I leave though ~ I have discontinued my mobile line and the moment the line got cut, I felt like as if I had lost a limb. Now, I realise how dependant I am on my mobile. It’s not like as if I receive calls more than the PM but still, I look at my handphone as an object for times in need and the moment I realise that if anything were to happen and I didn’t have a phone on me, I wouldnt know what to do! But that was all put to ease after I got a pre-paid starter pack for my Mum which I am currently using till I leave lar.:hehe:

Today, I’m having bak chang for lunch. The bak chang we bought from Swatow Lane. It’s 5 in 1 ~ mushroom, watercrest nut, lean meat, salted egg yolk and pieces of fat. [Sorry this is not halal by the way ~ it's all pork.] This is my favourite combo and they were selling for RM2.50 per piece. We bought 4 and had 2 for dinner last night. Yummy-licious aitelyu!! I had sau hor fan and fried oysters…beeeeeeeest!!!

Anyway, what would say to a signboard like this?

If these posters and trailer haven’t whet your appetite, I don’t know what will!! I literally went weak in the knees and my tummy did a sommersault when I read what Consuela wrote in her Cbox, ‘Saw 3 is coming out on 53 days!!!’. [That was a couple of days ago.] I was like, ‘O M F G….no waaaaay!! YES! YES! YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!’, did a Chicken Little dance in my chair and began writing this post.

I can’t wait to watch this movie coming out in 46 days [as at today lar] and I’ll be watching it with Ted in Sydney where there will be NO cutting and snipping ~ I get to see it as it is!! HURRAY!!!! :dancing: :dancing:

Synopsis for Saw 3 :

Jigsaw has disappeared.

With his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard.

One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), bedridden and on the verge of death. She is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw’s own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that he has a much bigger plan for both of them… [Taken from Rottentomatoes.com]

My review for Saw 2. Can’t believe I didn’t do one for Saw 1! Anyway, here’s a CnP :

Two men wake up at opposite sides of a dirty, disused bathroom, chained by their ankles to pipes. Between them lies a dead man loosely clutching a hand-held tape player and a handgun. Each finds a tape the perfect fit for the player in their back pocket. They play the tapes. One is threatened, the other isn’t. But they have a task: One must kill the other by 6:00, or his wife and daughter will die. They find hacksaws in a toilet, and try to cut the chains, but it doesn’t work. They are the two newest victims of the Jigsaw Killer. In a flashback, we learn of Amanda, a girl who falls victim to the Jigsaw Killer. On her head is a mask, which is hooked into her lower jaw. There is a timer on it. Only one key will unlock it, and that key is in the digestive tract of her cell mate who lies paralyzed on the opposite side of the room. If she doesn’t unlock the mask in time, her lower jaw will be ripped wide open. She survives, but her cell mate doesn’t. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn of more victims, and of the nearly-successful capture of the Jigsaw Killer, who doesn’t actually kill his victims. Instead, he finds ways to make them kill either themselves, or each other, and he thinks the entire ‘game’ out perfectly, with no other ways out. Or so it would seem.

I’m so excited about Saw 3 that I can hardly contain myself!!

My movie marathon

I spent almost the whole of Friday doing up my wedding album, a gift from Lilian @ 5xMom. She gave me a Photobook Album by Pixart. I’m very excited about it and can’t wait to get the book. It’s a wonderful gift for any occasion, right from the birth of your first born to your 50th wedding anniversary ~ it’s a gift for all occasions, even for your precious travelogues! It’s simple to do and it’s only done in 5 steps. The tough bit is getting your photos the way you want it. And that has pretty much kept me glued to my PC screen for at least a good 5 to 6 hours non-stop.

The thing with Pixart is, you get sucked into creating your album that you dont notice how time seems to just zip by. One moment I was having my morning cuppa and the next, it was teh tarik time! Amazing how time just flies like that…. Anyway, I’m done with the meddling and uploading my pix and it’s just a matter of time before I get the album. I hope I can get it back before I fly off to Sydney on the 16th. But I seriously doubt it..but wish me luck anyway.

And as a treat to myself since I havent had much of a break, I went on a movie marathon. Well, it’s technocally NOT a marathon but I did watch 3 movie since Friday night and one on Thursday, so it’s got to count for something right? I managed to haggle 8 DVDs from Taman U’s Uncle Ho for RM40. It was going for buy 3, get one free for RM21 so I bought 8 for RM40. And because it was that cheap [you get what you pay for], I had to get Sis to return 2 DVDs for me as there was so sound at all. I told her to pull a fast one and tell the guy that the DVD couldnt run. Hopefully he’ll fall for it.

I have 4 reviews to share with you but I dunno why it wont post the reviews…. :crying: :crying: Will keep trying in any case….For the record, I watched The Wild, See No Evil, Monster House & 13 Ghosts.
