The grass is always green on my side.

The neverending cycle begins

[A re-type of yesterday's post, stupid connection didnt load it up when I clicked 'Save'....it was a good post. *Sigh*]

It’s finally sunk in - I’m back in the neverending cycle of eat-sleep-work-eat. Today, as many of you already know, was my first day on the job and I’m glad to say that I had fun. All that stress and nervousness for nothing! There were about 20 new faces today and our group is so culturally diverse! We’ve got English, Irish, Scottish, Fiji, NZ, Indonesian, MALAYSIAN, French [a sweet man who sit besides moi] and of course, an Aussie or 2 around as well. I found myself surrounded by many friendly faces and I’m thankful for that. Some have already gotten their cliques together but as for me…I’m still trying to fit in. Didnt feel as if it was neccessary to have cliques but I’s like to think that I’ve found 2 glas whom I can hangout with. One’s a chatty Aussie chick and the other an Irish lass - I just LOVE her accent! There is also another foreign girl whom I like but I dont know what origin she is - must ask her tomorrow. I would say that she’s the prettiest of the lot - beautiful face with a cute attitude to boot! I could look at her for hours - but I didnt of course. Didnt want to scare her nor her baby!! Lol I think she just got pregnant or so everyone keeps saying.

Yesterday, it hadn’t dawned on me that I’d be in the working world again until Ted and I went last minute clothes shopping. I managed to buy 3 blouses and a handbag and got a good price on it too. [I've come to the conclusion that women will never have enough clothes or shoes for that matter - you can throw in the handbags as well coz it's blardy true!] I was very happy with my loot but cant say much about Ted’s poor card. :secret: It was after we got home that I realised that I’d have to be waking up with the birds in the morning and getting ready to go to work!! :hypnotized: I had to be in the office by 8.30am which means that I have to be on the train at least by 7am. Knowing what a slow coach I am at getting ready in the mornings I set my alarm clock for 5.15am [it was suppose to be 5.30am but I'm a little paranoid about getting up in the mornings]. Turns out, I woke up just before 5.15am and waited for the alarm to go off, snoozed it once and was out of bed at 5.25am….rushing to get ready in case Ted got ready faster than me! [He only needs like 15mins to get ready for work - it's a miracle he remembers to put on a shirt!]

By 5.40am, I was ready and staring into an empty place waiting for Ted to wake up. So I made me a coffee and waited. It’s a wonder how slowly time drags by when you want it to hurry. But I wasnt that afraid coz I knew that Ted was sending me to the station before going off to work himself. He starts at 7am. Such a sweety isnt it? But only for today. From tomorrow onwards, I have to walk to the station from home which is about 20mins [less than 1/2hr] away then take the train into the city which is about 40min or so and another 10min walk to my office. All in all, I’d be walking some 30mins a day, which will do me a world of good seeing how desperate I am at wanting to lose weight. But I’m sure that this is also part of Ted’s secret diet plan for me coz it has been decided that I cannot take the bus to the station unless it’s a good reason, ie. rain maybe. And if it aint too dark when I return home, I gotta walk too. So if I walk both ways - it’s 1 hour a day!!! Damn….I better lose some pounds or I’ll give up losing weight and dieting FOREVER!! :nottalking:

I seriously dont mind the walking but today, I had my first dose of walking back…haiyolar!!! My calves and ankles are hurting & aching like mad!!! :crying: I’ve already booked Ted to gimme a foot and leg massage today - beh tahan wei…..tomorrow, I’m ditching those damn corporate court shoes and I’m gonna wear my boots. Heck, I got all dressed up today and some of them turned up in attire that was no where even near business, talk about CORPORATE! :grouch: O well, at least I’m getting an idea what is business wear here - it’s so different back home. Ever heard of short pants as business attire? Not back home but here, very common…maybe I might have to get a pair too after hearing rumours that summer this year is gonna skyrocket. Sydney is after all experiencing one of it’s worst drought seasons ever in 10yrs and I had to be here to experience it as well….:worried

Now, it’s bath-bath time….then, foot massage!!!

I’m really happy for you .. Yvy..! being so productive in such a short time..!! i didn’t think that “angmohs” wants their wife to slimmer ..?? they are way too polite about it here.. and although i am sure i have more pounds to lose.. Papa BoK has never mentioned about it before. I feel good about it.. because it’s not like back home.. where i am expected to be real skinny..! not only because of peer pressure.. but because no clothes to buy.. in asia.. but over here in Canada.. i can get clothings anywhere.. and i’m not consider XXXXXL… hahhahaha!!

Walking is good for your health. I walk 6 kms daily now that we’ve got a bike to commute. Earlier it used to be 14 km daily. Just have to walk in morning while me and my bro come home together in the evening. :-)

    Ash : O M G…. :suprised: :suprised: :suprised: Why were u walking 14kms a day????

JoeC : O dont u worry abt that. Ted’s got me on a tight rein at the moment where food is concerned but he is kind of lenient when it comes to gelatos!

Visithra : Hahaha….yea, but looks so funny lar.

QV : Yea, tell me abt it. How come the short thingy was not adopted by Malaysia? Should be wat after all they took up the suit, pant & tie didnt they?

Mama Bok : Thanks! Yea, I know what u mean. Here size 30 is no big deal. I wear between 14 to 16 depending and even then, sometimes it’s too big! I feel so horrible - like the lost size. Stuck in the middle! :nocomment:

BJ : Not surprised lar…she’s Croation it seems.

May : I got a better idea…walk in my flats/sandals/sports shoes and go to office n change. Everyone does it here coz taking the train n walking is part n parcel of working life.

Anjali : Men fitting that category got a lot - but I dunno is senget or not! lol
