Updates

I think I haven’t written an update post in awhile. Used to do it everytime something big came along but then, I guess the desire to do so just wore off. But the recent happenings are pretty huge changes to me, personally.

First things first, I am certainly thankful that my temporary tenure at my workplace is not yet up. My last day was suppose to be on 24/11/2006 but somehow, they kept me until today. But they have moved me to a different department. I’m now in the Call Centre - a job that I never once ever had the desire to try out at all, let alone apply for. I personally don’t feel confortable listening to people winge and whine and expect me to clear their problems with a snap of my fingers but that it exactly what these customers are doing to me. Think what? I’m David Blaine incarnate??? But in anycase, I’m indirectly happy that I still have a job to hang on to even though I don’t really like it. While this crap is happening to me, I’ve been called for an interview in the same company but for a permanent position however, they wanted to interview me today which didn’t quite do it for me since I had other plans today. I pretty much wasn’t in the office at all because I had some issues to deal with urgently. I hope my boss got my little email of apology and has reconsidered to reschedule my interview. Pretty please! :praying:

With regards to the issues I mentioned…..praise God for making it all happen for us. At least up till this stage, it all looks good. We spent practically the whole day today applying for various forms for me i.e my permanent spouse visa which set us back quite a bit financially, applied for my Medicare card which will help in the medical bills in the future and most of all, I finally submitted an application to get my tax file number [TFN].

I didn’t have any trouble with any of these applications except that I was so pissed with the fact that I have had very highest taxation on my weekly salary because I decided to go by the rules and provide the information and documents needed in the application form. When Ted and I turned up today at the Tax Office, this woman simply told me to apply online and I did it in less than 5 minutes!!! :grrr: I waited SO long to get the documents that I thought they would need in order to file or process or whatever it is they need to do, but nope. All I had to do was get online and apply. I was speechless. I was numb. I was just plain shocked. And because this little ‘mishap’, I’ve been getting taxed way passed my neck!! It’s a killer, I tells ya!! Just imagine having 46% taxed out of your salary….sakit lor! To think that I will have to wait another 3 weeks before I get some sort of reply from them. Aiyo…!

But……the good news is, I get my money back next year when I fill up my tax return forms. I hope to get a big fat cheque in the mail somewhere in July but for now, I must suffer. :worried

Wait… you work in the call center now? Ouch. That’s a painful job.

Anyway, you could always binge and then use your fat check in July to pay it all off hehehe :P

The same thing happened to me with the tax deductions. They sapu maximum, but then they give it back. And trust me, when you get the cheque back, it’s going to feel so great!

The most important card you’ll ever need is the Medicare one. I’m SO glad I got mine already, saved me a lot of money when I had to get my finger xray and ultrasound done.

Anything you want to know, ask me ok - I got little bit of experience cos same case

So you will have Christmas in July. Reminds me of how I have bureaucracies Mui. Hope all the paperwork goes through quickly. It was a pain to do this for my missus here in the states. Expensive too. But I’m glad I did it.
