I officailly touched home ground at 8.15pm last night. But nothing could beat the feeling of coming home to Mummy and my 2 pups. Leaving Ted at the air port was tough and I tried my best to not let my tears be noticeable and I doubt they were. I managed to keep them welled up and not spill over with future thoughts of me coming back home to him in about 3 months and thankfully, it worked.
For the first time in my experience of flying, my flight from Sydney to Penag was an hour early. I’ve never heard of such a thing before! In fact, if not for the mucking around trying to figure out what gate I was due at to take my connecting flight, I would have been first in line in front of the flight crew, waiting to get into the waiting lounge. The gate was to open at 5.35pm but I was there at 5.20pm - so you can imagine how early I was. I am thankful that all went well during the flight and the food was good too. Sadly, my light ‘tea’ in the second stretch of my Sydney-Penang flight was a bad choice. I chose Ee Fu mee over chicken and mushroom pie. Big mistake but lesson learnt. We were served a tad bit late and by that time, the noodles were already soggy. Bluek! Plus there was not enought salt so, that made it worst. Still, over all it was a good flight.
The plane touched down on time in Penang and something in me just went dead blank. I was confused as to whether my Singapore-Penang flight was a dmestic one or an international one. This, I blame wholly on my pregnancy. *Shhh…..when brains get fried - blame the baby!* With no ground staff to check with, I ‘decided’ that I was on a domestic flight and make my way out from there. But when I noticed that no baggage was coming out, something smelled fishy so I walked over to the next lane where a huge group of people were gathered. Then I saw my flight number being flashed. But something in my mind was telling me that I needed to recorded my coming into Malaysia. Part of me knew I had to do it but another part just didn’t want to bother about it but I knew better so I checked and found out that I needed to go through Immigration. But that was a long way back and the end of the journey actually ended right in front of me. So I asked the officer if I could just take a short cut and walk across the hall way. He told me he wasn’t sure but it wouldnt hurt to ask. So I put on my 5sen welfare face and approached the immigration officer and told him I was confused and made the wrong exit out. Thankfully, he was in a pleasant mood and told me to come around. So I got officialy and legally recorded as coming in. I wonder what would have happened if I just ignored that and took my baggage and left……
Would I have been considered a missing ‘person’ since I left Sydney but never really made it ‘into’ Malaysia? Would that get me in trouble? Well, I guess now I’ll never know and I don’t think I ever want to find out anyway.
My first stop is…..you guessed it! Teh tarik and roti canai at a mamak restaurant. Wah……it was fantastic! It was marvelous! It was delicious! It was everything I thought it would be and muc, much more. SO satisfying……*sighs contentedly*
People, I’m home and damn, I’m glad I’m home!!!
