Got my pay today and almost half has gone down the drain thanks to my having to change my almost obsolete motherboard due to one of its capasitors which was near to exploding. PC was giving me trouble whenever I tried to start it and sometimes, when times are REALLY bad, it takes me at the very least, 10 re-starts before it spurts to life. I guess Thursday was the final straw and into the sickbay it went.
So I got me a new motherboard, new casing and a new floppy drive [like as if I need it at all!] and it cost me quite a bomb, to say the least but what really pissed me off was the fact that while I was waiting for the lady to fit in my DVD burner and restart it, my spare HDD ‘blew up’ right in front of me. So there goes my additional HDD. Thank goodness that it was an old HDD which was only 4GB - yes, it was a REALLY old one which I was using during my college days but still it served me well. I was really upset because although that HDD was small in size, it contained most of my old digi-pix from day of yore. It was really painful to note that those pix would not be able to be retrieved anymore. Good thing was that I did burn most of it before hand! In any case, I am still VERY upset.
But it’s a great feeling to be able to get online from home again. Hopefully Streamyx doesn’t act up on me again….

Don’t worry, my dear.. With a new and faster computer, you will be able to earn back whatever you “lose” today by writing paid posts! Muahaha

Aww.. you poor thing. Thank goodness you burn the copies into a disk already. This reminds me of my own photos and files stored in my brand new Notebook. OK lar, not so brand new. Kinda 4 months old.
If anything happen, all my files would be gone for I have yet ro copy everything into cds. Too lazy bah.
Anyway, congratulations on your new PC! New motherboard means new PC loh. Hehehehe.

That reminds me I’d better upload my photos lest something happens.. or perhaps just to get that extra space to install some games.
4GB HDD? Now if only it’d lasted a few years it’d be a collectors item!
I’ve got a 1.5 GB HDD that I got from a friend and its working. I’m storing it and plan to sell it on eBay sometime at 2015. I’d be rich!!! [Thats all theory though]
So did you change the Processor also or just the motherboard?
