If there is a chance for me to make a wee bit of money, I’d take it. But what is icing on the cake is that it’s in support of Asia’s blog advertising network!
Yup, this is another tool for me to maximize the full potential of my blog. If you want to know the jist of it…. nah, a picture speaks a thousand words.
Yup, it’s all about Advertlets.com. And the main reason why I like this network is that I can continue to promote the local products/services/events on my blog even though I may not be in Malaysia. And since those who read my blog is mostly Malaysians, I think it’s GREAT way to spread the news. *grin*
So come and join me and help spread the word!

It’s 1.50am and I’m still wide awake. Just had a wonderful time chatting with a gf and I guess that was what kept me awake. Since I’m still up at this ungodly hour, my tummy’s growling so I have with me a glass of warm milk to keep me company till I finish this post. Mum and Sis are also still awake so I’m not the only nut still wide-eyed at home. Heh.
On Saturday, after Pentecost mass, Mum, Sis and I decided to have dinner at this new western place owned by an uncle of a galpal of mine called Derek’s in Kulim. It’s a nice, cozy restaurant built in a single storey semi-d near Kulim town. We have heard a lot about this place and decided to check it out.
What I liked most about this place is the ambiance. The whole restaurant is filled with antique decorations which kept me more interested in taking pictures of those items than eating the food there. Because Derek had worked in Burma before this, he had bought many Burmese artifacts and decor to give the restaurant a very lived-in, colonial feel.
Really old Burmese lamps

900 year old China vases

An old Dutch clock

A piece of handmade leather decor on the wall

An old wooden jewelery box with the world map as the outside decor.

Other odds and ends around the restaurant. See that small brown dog under that huge Dane? I thought it was a real dog when I stepped in! Funny….

Just me being artsy-fartsy….
By the time I had taken all these pix, our entree arrived.
The onion soup was nice but it was a tad too peppery for me. Would have been better with a little less pepper.
After we had finished our soup, our main dishes were presented to us :

Mum’s order

Sis’ order

My order of crumbed fish & chips.
Once our main dish was done, we were served with dessert which was either ice cream or fruit and then followed by coffee. I felt as if I was back in Sydney, coz this is pretty much the line up for a set menu. Overall, I think the food was good and definitely worth it! Each set menu was about RM17 and the portions was more than enough. I certainly see myself going for another visit before I head off to Sydney so if you’re in Kulim, lemme know….I’ll take you there and we can have dinner together!

Today was my official first day being jobless. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not bogged down with the big bag packing session. I’m leaving for Sydney on 9 June 2007. And Lord knows when I’ll be back again. But when I do, it’ll be the 3 of us! I still have a hand full of things to buy and man, do I hate packing!! But the thing I hate the most…..is leaving all that is familiar behind. However, at the same time, I’m looking forward to seeing Ted again coz I really do miss him. It’s such a tug of war within me and while chatting to Zona the other day, I couldn’t help but agree that is the transition which most of us who migrate over experience. Some can handle it well and others don’t. Me, I’m trying to take it one day at a time and most like taking it slow to adapt myself again after having the time of my life back home, here.
She asked me a good question though, ‘Where is home?’ and surprisingly, I found it hard to answer that for the most natural thing that came to mind was, home is where the heart is….but in my situation, my heart’s being torn in 2!! So how?? Being the happy-go-lucky, sweep-everything-under-carpet, live and let live kind, I don’t think about it at all. In fact, I don’t want to because the more I think about it, the tougher it is for me to carry on with life. It’s no use leaving your heart behind here and then mope about it and think about things here when life goes on, no matter what and where you’re at. At least this is what I’m psyhic-ing [?] myself with. It hasn’t been a smooth ride at all for me although I always put up a brave and accepting front about. It’s going to be tougher after this since I feel so good to be back in Kulim. Sometimes I don’t feel as if I want to go back to Sydney at all!!
Life is different there in almost all aspects, right from the kind of people I meet, their personalities, their characters, their way of life and of course, the culture. I think myself as someone who can adapt easily to any environment and since I believe in this, I make it happen. I’m thankful that I have Ted to rely and depend on, on many levels, especially emotionally. He is indeed my tower of strength and source of encouragement. I think I’ll be all blek without him, seriously!
O well, enough ranting, I’ve got to get back to my packing and get some rest too coz believe it or not, I had a horrid Sunday - I think had my first experience of Braxton Hicks!!! But I don’t think it is….in any case, takuk lor! Wrote about it in Kecik’s blog. If you can tell me if it is or not, do leave me a comment or 2. Need all the experience I can get.

Like a candle in the wind
My flame, she flickers
Not knowing when it will die out
Come strong winds, I start to waver
When all is still and calm,
My light shines ever so brightly
The winds of change they come blowing by
Tempting my flame to say goodbye
But my flame, she dances ever so gracefully
Yes, she dances like so with the wind
Blending so perfectly as one
Though impossible as it sounds
Now my flame she stands ever so still
Not wavering, not dancing,
Nothing
My poor flame, what should she do?
Let go, hope to be re-lit?
Or waver, with sad fragility?
My flame, my flame…such is life
Protected, you shine so brightly
Yet when you are free,
How vulnerable you can be…

It’s wonderful to enter a room and be greeted by the sensual smell of lavendar or ylang-ylang. Or perhaps even the fresh citrusy smell of lemons as I find it so refreshing. I absolutely love that feeling and like Ted, who also introduced me to aromatherapy bath crystals, we’re both crazy over incense in general. My favourite bath crystal is lavendar. Actually that is my all time favourite amongst the wide range of aromatic smells you can get.
Besides bath crystals, I also love those cone shaped incenses. Sha bought me a few packets the other day, and I’ve been going nuts burning them whenever I can. It really makes the whole house smell so nice!! Among the ones which I really like is Cannabis, Sandalwood and Patchouli - besides lavendar that is. Tee-hee!
Anyway, Bestincense has a wide range of products from incense, perfume oils [a must check out section - so many to choose from!!] and bath crystals. They also provide incense holders too. So it’s pretty much your one-stop-aromatherapy shop. Their fresh, hand-dipped, long burning incense are sold at 20 sticks per pack at only US1 and are shipped fast and fresh worldwide. Other than your typical range of aromatic incenses, they also carry a large selection of designer type perfume oils and bath crystals. To get more information, do join their email list and if you’re like me, I normally submit my name for a free sample - wouldn’t hurt to know what you’re buying with good money!

Packed with some of the most eye-popping images to hit screens this year, the body modification documentary “Modify” makes Extreme Makeover look like Romper Room. A brief but ambitious look at the various ways in which we humans, seek to push the limits of our physical selves through tattooing, piercing, plastic surgery, bodybuilding, scarification, gender reassignment, and more, “Modify” delivers in spades in the shock and awe department. And although the piece ultimately comes off more as a boisterous cheer for sticking metal in your face than a balanced discussion of the topics at hand, the voice of the community profiled and images themselves have an undeniable impact.

Why did I bring this up? Simply because I’m so excited!!! :dancing: I’m such a sucker for body art such as tattoos, piercings and more recently, extreme body modification as you can see in some of the pix I’ve put up. I may be in to this but I’m going to just stick to tattoos for now. I’ve kind of outgrown my fixation on piercings and at the moment, I’m still getting my high from tattoos. I’ve been planning to get a lower back piece for a long time coming and when I finally got my piece ready, I got pregnant. So tattooing will have to wait until perhaps mid of 2008. But to feed my interest and passion….I did the next best thing. :smug:
I just bought this DVD and got it shipped to Sydney and I just can’t wait to plop myself down and watch this. This was released last year and I had to wait SO long to get my hands on this DVD. I been waiting since last year!! I was kind of upset earlier today when I was searching for this DVD only to find that the first site I stumbled upon had no stock to send out.
However, I am damn glad that Prick Magazine had some with them. Now, now….this ain’t the kind of DVD you could get at Uncle Ho’s coz if it were, I would have had it a long time ago. Sadly, this is something for a particular group people - body art enthusiasts! So excited! So s-excited!!!!! :silly:
Thank god for PayPal & PPP, I managed to purchase this online for US22.95 including shipping fee….and I don’t really feel the pinch coz…PPP what. See, no loss to join PPP wan…..this is my second purchase using the money earned from PPP. Ish…so happy la me!!!! *dancing around the room in sex-tacy*
