Packed with some of the most eye-popping images to hit screens this year, the body modification documentary “Modify” makes Extreme Makeover look like Romper Room. A brief but ambitious look at the various ways in which we humans, seek to push the limits of our physical selves through tattooing, piercing, plastic surgery, bodybuilding, scarification, gender reassignment, and more, “Modify” delivers in spades in the shock and awe department. And although the piece ultimately comes off more as a boisterous cheer for sticking metal in your face than a balanced discussion of the topics at hand, the voice of the community profiled and images themselves have an undeniable impact.
Why did I bring this up? Simply because I’m so excited!!! :dancing: I’m such a sucker for body art such as tattoos, piercings and more recently, extreme body modification as you can see in some of the pix I’ve put up. I may be in to this but I’m going to just stick to tattoos for now. I’ve kind of outgrown my fixation on piercings and at the moment, I’m still getting my high from tattoos. I’ve been planning to get a lower back piece for a long time coming and when I finally got my piece ready, I got pregnant. :doh: So tattooing will have to wait until perhaps mid of 2008. But to feed my interest and passion….I did the next best thing. :smug:
I just bought this DVD and got it shipped to Sydney and I just can’t wait to plop myself down and watch this. This was released last year and I had to wait SO long to get my hands on this DVD. I been waiting since last year!! I was kind of upset earlier today when I was searching for this DVD only to find that the first site I stumbled upon had no stock to send out. 
However, I am damn glad that Prick Magazine had some with them. Now, now….this ain’t the kind of DVD you could get at Uncle Ho’s coz if it were, I would have had it a long time ago. Sadly, this is something for a particular group people - body art enthusiasts! So excited! So s-excited!!!!! :silly:

plinky : yup….suspended by the arms…..pretty extreme too. but i salute them. they obviously have the mental power to withstand the pain. all about mind over matter.
