Balik kampung!

Haiz…Lil’ Sis left on the 8.05am flight this morning to Penang. Now I got no kawan. *sniff sniff* What makes it worst is that Ted won’t be home tonight because of his overnight shift so I’ll be home alone. WAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! I’ll be home, COLD and ALONE. So sad lar…..

We had to wake up at 4am to get an early start just so we would be on time and although some of you think that’s a really un-Godly hour to be up and I agree it is, I’m glad that we did. It was 5.30am when we got out the door and almost 6.30am when we reached the airport. The line at the check-in counters were SO long and only 3 Economu Class ones were open!!! I really regretted that our printer had to screw up yesterday or we could have done and internet check-in, sat down and have a coffee or something. Then when it came to our turn, turns out that some idiot at the call centre I called up yesterday had cancelled the Sin/Pen sector of the flight!!! Thank goodness SIA’s got buffer seats or Sis would be stuck in Singapore and it was a good thing that the lady at the counter double checked with us too.

I had Sis on a waitlist for the 11.30am but we were already confirmed for the 8.05am flight so when I called to check yesterday, the outsourced call centre people said that it was still on waitlist and THAT was when I told him to release the *waitlisted* flight. Not both!! Idiot…..

Sis was so scared to travel on her own that she was feeling sick and feverish coz she’s nver travelled alone before but there’s always a first time to everything. Am glad that her first achievement was that she found the right gate at Sydney airport! *lol* After she checked in, Ted and I took off to have brekkie [again] at Bondi. I was surprised that most cafes were still shut that we ended up having brekkie at McD’s! Hehehe…so bad lar. Then it was home-ward bound and straight into bed. That was 9.45am just now. It’s 2.30pm…..we woke up at 1.30pm. Was a GOOD long nap. The rain made it cozier but damn, it’s back to being very cold again. Where’s my sun gone too?!?!?!

Now…it’s time for lunch. Me is going to make a sandwich - I think I’ve had enough of meaty and greasy stuff for now. Will tell you more about our trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park later.

Stair lifts for your ease!

This invention must be God sent for many elderly people and people who find it hard to move around. I bet my FIL would love to have this installed at my place for his convenience. Although he can still walk about, he does so with a little bit of difficulty and with a cane so if Ted and I had this installed….WOW, he would have it easy!

Value Lifts from UK has many models to suit your home, no matter how your home is designed - these stairlifts are adaptable and designed to suit the user. I’m glad to note that they also provide a comprehensive after sales service 24/7, 365 days a year! That itself is a great deal to me coz a lot of companies don’t really provide good after sales service which I think is essential especially for such an important addition.

With Sis leaving for Kulim this Sunday, Ted & I took her to the newly opened Sydney Wildlife World down by Darling Harbour, right beside Sydney Aquarium. Like me, Sis is also an animal lover and absolutely loves visiting zoos and petting farms. We had plan to visit Oakvale Farm in Newcastle but my aunt told us that it was closed due to the floods. That is a real pity coz I love that farm! You can hand feed all the animals there including kangaroos, piglets, kids [baby goats lar!], a little orphan joey, cows, calves, horses….if it’s an animal and if it lets you, you can feed it. It’s just AWESOME!

But we had to make do with this, I guess. On the average, you could finish cover this place in about 1 1/2 hours but since we are slow and stopped to take shots of this and that, and then backtracked to see the bird show and all, it took us more than 2 hours. But it was a good 2 hours.

Me & Sis at Sydney Wildlife World

Me and Sis at the entrance of Sydney Wildlife World. See how nice and sunny it is? Pretend you don’t see us all bundled up, ok? :smug:

The only thing that I wasn’t too happy about was the fact that we weren’t allowed to hold any animals and I, for one, will never turn down a chance to hold any animal given the opportunity. So, yea…I was a little upset. The lady at the koala sanctuary mentioned that if we wanted to touch or pat the koalas, we would have to purchase a photo taken by them coz they would have to literally wake the koalas up. And the koalas were all fast asleep at that time. I didn’t think it was right to wake the koalas up just for that reason plus, it costs a bomb for the pix so I passed on that. After all, I’ve taken pix with koalas before so it was no biggie for me. Just upset I didn’t get to hold em’.

Koala asleep

Another 'zzzzzzzzz koala

Did you know the first solid meal that a baby koala [a.k.a joey] eats is its mother’s droppings? Female koalas produce a special paste-textured dropping in order to pass on to their offspring bacteria essential for the digestion of eucalyptus leaves!

The following picture is one of my favourites! It reminds me of how Zorro sleeps….

Monitor lizard

Roasted pig

The similarity is just toooooooooooo obvious….need I say more??

I still have a few more pix to put up and will do so in the next few post. Gotta go get some rest. My heels feel like the are going to just split open! So tired….

Gossip that never stops!

Tell me one person who isn’t interested in gossip…ok, maybe Ted isn’t but besides him, I think every other person here surely knows what Paris Hilton is up to these days right? Or what’s all the hullabaloo that’s been going even after Anna Nicole Smith has left this world…?Well, thanks to hardworking people who are always on the go, we can always rely on them to get great up todate celebrity rumors. At Hot Gossip/Celebrity Gossip, you get to read the latest scoop on what’s happening in tinsel town and not only that, you get to vote, and leave you comment as well. They’ve got loads of juicy stories to share so be sure you get an account with them to get all the latest bits. After all, it’s for free!!

Heater’s in the house!

Omg….we finally got ourselves a heater yesterday. I’m so happy!!!! :dancing: It’s a small one for our small unit which I’m happy with. To me, as long as it keeps me warm, I’m a-ok with it. It’s a 1500w column heater which runs on oil but we still need to plug it in. Ted didn’t want anything that drains energy too much - save the earth mar! :smug:

Anyway, we didn’t have time to set it up last night so Ted’s busy setting it up now that he’s back from his work. Can’t wait! Can’t wait! :dancing: :dancing:

Do you how tough it is to get your clothes dry when it’s cold and chilly? And not to mention that it also rains every now and then during the day? Very, very the mahuan! [tiresome] And although I do have a dryer, I try not to use it too often coz it tends to shrink my clothes and clothes are best put in dryers when they are semi wet as in when they’ve been out to ‘dry’ for a bit. Not right out of the washing machine and into the dryer - that would kill em’ in the long run!

Anyway, while Ted fiddles with the heater to get it working and all, I had better go get ready for my doctor’s appointment. I have to take a glucose test today and I think I have to fast and skip lunch! :crying:

Loan comparison at its best

How wonderful life would be if we didn’t have any loans or if we could be totally debt free, eh? I took my first personal loan from my previous working place because I could and it was on an interest free payback mode. But I think in the end, I regretted it. I never took any personal loans again after that. But that was only because I didn’t need it.

But not everyone can fork up cash up front to settle his or her financial needs and I certainly am one who couldn’t. And if ever I needed to get a personal loan , I’d definitely make sure I do my research to source out a deal which will benefit me the most. UK Loans is a great comparison site that you should check out if you’re looking to get yourself a loan as it takes just mere minutes of your time to give them some details and they will do the searching for you.

My cousin in UK has been mentioning about getting a car there, maybe I should tell her about checking out the sources she can get about car loans from here. I’m sure she’ll thank me!
