The grass is always green on my side.

Archives for July, 2007

I watched this a week after it opened and I think Ted was more excited than I was! *lol* Don’t worry, I won’t give it away if you haven’t caught it yet. :)

I personally thought that after I watched this, I came to the conclusion that if you’ve watched ONE Harry Potter movies, you’ve seen them all. Of course, it’s got it’s moments here and there but over all, eehh…..was ok la. *ducking all the rotten eggs being thrown at me from Harry Potter fans* I know it was inevitable but it was so sad to note that Harry has lost his boyish looks. He’s a MAN now….haiz. I liked him more when he was a youngun’…..and I bet lots of old ladies would have lost it for him too!!! *lol* Funny how old ladies almost faint at his feet and can actually fall in love with this kuchi-brat. O well….I can say whatever about it, but if you’re already planning to watch it, go la. It’s really not as bad as I say it is.

And as for the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book from J. K. Rowling….I’ve been told that it has a slow start BUT it gets very exciting as it nears the end. I won’t want to be a spoil sport and tell you the ending although I haven’t read it yet. In fact, I haven’t read a single HP book at all!! Ted bought the latest one because he couldn’t wait for the softcover. He had ordered it actually and really woke up early that morning to join the queue to collect his book! That man is sometimes so unpredictable….anyway, he was the one who told me this. In any case, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the book if you’ve kept track of it. I might have to start from Book 1 though. :)

A question to all Harry Potter fans : How do you feel now that J. K. Rowling has ended her writings about Harry Potter? Or do you think she might come up with something….impossible about HP?

Boys will be boys

When I saw this, the first thing that came to mind was if we had a little boy, this is the thing that Ted would introduce him to as soon as possible. It must really be a guy thing coz anything that blows up or can be used to shoot, seems to bring a smile to any male face.

Airsoft guns from AirGunDepot are used in “a military simulation sport in which players participate in mock combat with military-style mock weapons and tactics. Airsoft guns usually use 6 mm spherical pellets typically made of solid plastic. Developed in Japan in the 1950s, interest in Airsoft is growing throughout the world. Airsoft guns are used in military simulations as well as games, which can vary based on preference or local rules. Airsoft guns usually use 6 mm spherical pellets typically made of solid plastic.”

This reminds me of that game that Ted is so addicted to….Counter Strike I think and all I know of the game is that I hear lots of shooting, bombing and screams of death. But I guess nothing on screen can compare to role-playing in a simulation sport eh?

Tie me with ties

What makes a man look good? To me, I absolutely love seeing Ted in a suit/tuxedo. Exactly how he looked on the day we got married. Oooo…..so scrump-selicious! *drool drool* He looked really good in that designer suit he got and that cravat.

Men’s clothing may not vary as much as womens but I tell you, there are some really awesome fashions out there if you keep your eyes peeled! Have you seen some of those designer silk ties from Belisi?? OOoo….it’s absolutely gorgeous! But Belisi isn’t all about ties. They’ve got a wide range of stuff too. Why not pop over and be ready to be wow-ed. :)

I married my brother….

Here’s another one those moment where I sit back and think, ‘Omg….something bad could happen no matter how good some people think it is….’. Yup, if you caught this particular episode on 60 Minutes, you’d know what I am talking about.

Sperm Donor 48QAH [Quite A Hunk, o yea baby!] has been the cream of the crop and the choice sperm for many same sex couples and single mums. And from this, I can see why. I’m not surprised to see that he is indeed quite a hunk, pretty nice looking and has a kind face PLUS he is a a critical-care pediatrician. What more could a woman ask for in an almost perfect gene??? Because he was open to being contacted by his ‘childrens’ mothers, he has found quite a number of them have been born and some of them are even living in the same area/town. Thanks to Donor Sibling Registry, many children and couples now have the choice of looking for their ‘extended’ family.

While it means almost nothing to 48QAH for he doesn’t consider these children his, my mind was whizzing all sorts of thoughts particularly when they showed a group of kids who all have the same father [48QAH] but different mums. There were 7 of them and although they looked different to a certain extend, they had these quirky habits that really bonded them as a ‘family’. But what bugged me the most was….what if….what if these children never knew that they were genetically related?

Imagine all the in-breeding that would be happening if these children didn’t know that they have potential other half brothers and sisters somewhere out there. After all, people move from place to place and I personally think that the likelihood of hooking up with your sibling is possible. And worst still if the parents didn’t move and everyone grew up together, unknowingly. I think the consequences are quite scary….perhaps if you were living in an area and met someone who grew up in the same town/area, I’d highly suggest taking a DNA test to confirm that you aren’t dating your brother or sister!!

It’s sad to note that despite the joy of finally having you own baby, the woe of finding out that your child could be in love with their sibling and on the verge of getting married must be terribly devastating for them, eh? So who is at fault? Or is there no one we could blame? It’s a darn sticky situation if you ask me and definitely one which I certainly wouldn’t want to be in.

The perfect mailbox

If you don’t know by now, I’m a postcard freak. I’m a member of Postcrossing [you can check out the site on my side bar] and have been diligently swapping postcards on the side as well. Because of my constant correspondance and the occasional snail mail, I find that the mailbox the my unit provides me with is SO unsuitable!

It’s so minute!!!  What I would love is to get one of these mailboxes installed instead. *grins* If I could have it my way….instead of the normal but really cool residential mailboxes, I’d be delighted if I could really fix one of those commercial mailboxes instead! That way I don’t have to worry about the number of mail I’d be getting. :)

With this particular mailbox, I can take note of which dumb postman it is who keeps folding my postcards width-wise instead of just sliding it in as it is, as my mailbox is large enough for a medium size postcard. Why most postmen do this, I don’t know but I wished they would use those brains God gave them. I treasure my postcards, you know??? Anyways, my birthday’s coming soon - now you know what to get me! *grins cheekily*

FFT : Beauty

Ted came across this really unusual site which I think is…..well, let’s just say that many of the quotes left me speechless. Thought I come up with the occasional ‘Food For Thought’ since my SS has obviously gone down the drain. I’m pretty sure Jems is going to knock me on the head for this! *wink* Lol…..here’s the first of many more to come. Spradically if I may add or I might get dunked for being too much of a DE-motivator!!

Beauty

If you’re attractive enough on the outside,

people will forgive you for being irritating to the core.
