Time’s ticking with Luminox

Are you crazy over watches like I am? I love watches and I really can’t help myself when I see watches! I feel like I want to own them all. But that said, I personally believe that every single person should own a proper watch. And people should invest in a relatively decent one as well. I’ve had mine for many years now and I am glad that I spent a little something on it. I’m very particular about design and the watch face - I don’t those diamond crusted ones. I like those plain and clear types.

Luminox watches are really neat because it’s got that slight ruggedness to their designs. Even their ladies watches have that edge to it which is the way I like my watch to look like. :) When and if ever my current BUM watch dies, I might consider a Luminox one for sure!

Bye-bye, Tata

My weekend didn’t really start out that well at all.

On Friday morning, I got an sms from Mum saying that my paternal grandfather wasn’t doing too well. By night time, Sis sms me to say that he had passed away. :( There goes the last living grandparent I have but thankfully, the memories remain. The funeral was held in Kluang yesterday and Mum had rushed down to attend it.

It’s sad to think that Ella won’t be able to see him. She may not be his first great-grandaughter but she sure is his eldest son’s first grandaughter. I was hoping to go down to JB early next year while we’re in Malaysia and of course visiting him would be on the list. Now, that’s not to be. Although I should be closer to my Tata [grandfather in Tamil] since we used to live just about 5 minutes away back in Kluang, before we moved to another housing estate, I don’t feel that closeness. Maybe because he was a man who kept to himself and rarely talked to us kids. In fact, he spent a lot of time, from memory, praying and reading the Bible. If he wasn’t doing that he’d be either asleep, watching Tamil movies and WWF, or rocking in his rattan chair.

I love that rattan chair. We used to rush to sit in it because he was hardly ever not in this rocking chair of his and to be able to sit on it when he wasn’t, was a big bonus! He will be certainly be missed but I wouldn’t wish him still alive because during his last days, I must say that he was suffering. What not being able to move around on his own [he was wheelchair bound], memory lost due to Alzheimer’s and a whole lot of other complications, leaving this earthly world would have been in his best interest. At least all the suffering has ended.

Rest in peace, Tata….you’ve finally gone home.
