And it’s a darn serious one at that too! My lunch is at stake and if you know me well enough, I love food so to stake this important meal of the day is very serious business. The challenge is this [There's a story behind it.]:
Ted loves ‘laksa’ and he’s always had this laksa in Sydney. So when I first went there and he ordered this, I told him that no, this isn’t laksa, it’s curry mee. He refused to take my word on it. I explained that laksa could either be in this curry form ie Sarawak laksa/Johor style or like the Penang laksa which is more fishy and sour, and not lemak at all. It just depends on the shop.

Then we went to Kuching and we had this ‘laksa’ which happened to be the lemak kind, so he thinks I’m pulling his leg. The only thing is that when we were in KLCC and he ordered laksa, he got the Penang kind, which he doesn’t like. So I reminded him again. BUT he insists that laksa = the lemak kind and no other. This is also because there was one time when he ordered laksa at some stall here in Kulim and he got what he wanted, the lemak/curry kind and that is what he is standing by.

So the deal is this - I am to take him to a place where they do sell laksa and curry mee so that he can order his laksa and see what he gets. Provided that I don’t take him to a stall that I know for sure is selling Penang laksa.
If I win, he has to finish that bowl of assam laksa which he really dislikes and if he wins, I have to forego my lunch.
I’m already planning what I’m going to have for lunch when that day arrives. Mmwaaahahahahaha!
*In case there is a confusion, the challenge is simple : What is laksa? Is the gravy the curry type or the fishy one?
