The grass is always green on my side.

Archives for May, 2008

This weeks shot is somewhat of a walk down memory lane for me. I’m not used to showing off parts of me but I guess this is an exception because it’s so special and I was proud to be spotted with this load. :)

This is a shot of my baby bump at 19 weeks. Mind you, I was showing until I was well into my 6th month! Some people at my old office didn’t even know I was pregnant. *lol* Was really funny and sometimes I felt as if there was something wrong with me since the ladies at my pre-natal classes looked as if they were ready to pop even though it was still way to early. Actually, because of the way they looked, I was to a certain extend glad that I didn’t ‘grow’ to that size. Stretch marks hurt and are really an unpleasant sight!

And this is me at 35 weeks and just about to pop. I think it was about a week later that Arianna arrived. Comparatively, I think I wasn’t huge at all. In fact, I could still wear some of my pre-pregnant clothes in this stage. That blouse I have on is one of them though can’t say much for my jeans! *lol* My MIL always told me that I looked ‘neat’ when I was pregnant for which I am totally thankful for. I really didn’t want to be overweight because putting on too much also meant that shedding it would be hell!

Hope you enjoyed that - have a great weekend!

The place to pamper your pet

If you’ve got a pet, I bet you pamper it! I know that with my 2 pups, I pamper them a lot. I’m always on the look out for toys, snacks and other pet supplies as well. After all, my pups are the only other ‘babies’ that I pamper. :)

I find that I go absolutely nuts when I walk into a pet supplies shop because there are just far too many things that I’d love to buy but I do have to keep an eye on my  purse. ;) That’s why the only time I go absolutely crazy is when I find a discount store or if there is a sale. Wouldn’t you go nuts as well?

Help is there if you want it

When you see someone you love being torn apart physically and mentally by drugs and alcohol abuse, it hurts because they no longer seem familiar and you think that you’ve lost them for good. However, it is good to know that all is not lost when there are drug rehab centers which offer specified detox programs for anything that ails the one you love.

The first and hardest step is getting them to realize that they need help to get through this rough patch and the staff at Sunset Malibu is more than willing to take on this task and help them through this long and tough journey so that they are aware that they will not be alone on this road to recovery.

As a Catholic, seeing the Pope in flesh will be the height of my spiritual life. To be able to see the Holy Father up close is as good as it gets as chances of us making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land is currently out of our reach. World Youth Day 2008 is to be celebrated in Sydney this year and there is a lot of hype going on and in preparation, and in anticipation of His Holiness’ arrival.

World Youth Day was initiated by Pope John Paul II in 1984. And the largest crowd ever gathered for this event was in Rome in 2000 where approximately 2 million people gathered together. For the event in Sydney, they expect about 500, 000 to turn up and fingers crossed, we will amongst the throngs of people as well. The last time the Pope stepped foot in Sydney was in 1995.

Pope John Paul II visited Sydney in 1995 to beatify the Venerable Mother Mary of the Cross, MacKillop (1842-1909). And I believe Ted didn’t miss this chance to catch a glimpse of the Pope. In fact, he even has the paper cutting of this visit plastered on Arianna cupboard, it was his back then. ;) I don’t really know what to expect but I can imagine what it’s going to be like.

An upside down standing ovation for the organisers as I personally think that it’s passed the point of balding to be part of this huge event. I can’t even imagine what these people are going through, the stress and pressure must be just beyond words! As for me, I’m just wondering how the heck are we going to get there, lugging Arianna along. Everyone has been strongly encouraged to take the public transport which will be the main mode of getting to and from the site. Randwick is going to burst with the number of people who will be coming for this. Aiyo….I’m already tension thinking of this now and the Pope is only coming in July!!!

Anyhow, I really am looking forward to this mega huge event because as I said, this maybe the only chance for me to catch the Pope in action and how often do you get the chance to check out the Popemobile??? :P

Picture from Beliefnet - ain’t it one of a kind?

Better safe than sorry

A lot of us love travelling and let’s say that given the chance, I would love to spend the rest of my life travelling around the world. And I dare say that many would also like to do the same.

But travelling isn’t always necessarily safe and you’ll never know when disaster might strike. And I’m not just talking about accidents where the air planes crashed *touch wood* or baggage getting lost in transit. We’re talking about the works! I would always make sure that I get the most suitable travel insurance for my family and I so that we are covered from head to toe. After all, you might as well be prepared and not worry if something went wrong - holidays are for you to enjoy, so get the proper travel insurance before you go on your holiday!

Sis’ birthday is coming up really soon and I had nothing in mind to get her. Like me, she loves presents and I wouldn’t want to miss not getting her anything.

Compared to me, my sis is more daring and stylish when it comes to fashion. She prefers to be the trend setter rather the follower. So with this in mind, I found the perfect gift for her - designer jewelry! And since like me, she is nuts over silver, something from The Fiore Silver Collection would be just the gift for her. :)
