Let’s say that someone posted an invitation to a party online in Facebook, would you attend it?
I guess a person whose head is screwed on correctly would not even think of doing such a thing but if in the event that a person did, anyone in their right mind would not even think of attending that party - at least I know I wouldn’t.
It may sound harsh to some and truth be known, I think it’s really silly to post out a party invitatio online because sadly, there are many silly people out there who will actually take on the invitation. Then again, I don’t know if it would work in Malaysia or not but apparently, Australia’s ultimate party boy, Corey Worth-something had actually posted a party invitation in mySpace and 500 odd teens turned up at his house while his parents were away and they thrashed the place. Not really a surprise eh? He was all over the new and an overnight sensation!
He got paid like $200k, I think to appear in Big Brother - how silly is that??? The kid is a rotten role model and yet, it’s people like this who seem to get the limelight. All in the name of entertainment and showbiz I guess….
Anyway today, this hormone raging teen has been shot to ’stardom’ and is pretty much the most talked about teen in Australia because of this silly action he pulled. Obviously he has been supposedly punished by his parents for pulling a stunt like that but his excuse is that he is just like any other teenager out there who likes having fun. PUHLEEZ…. *rolls eyes* He is currently on Big Brother 08 as a guest and sadly, I have been sucked into watching this reality show, as much as I hate to admit it, it is really fun watching people make other people’s life difficult and miserable, and acting really silly. Ted hates BB a lot and everytime I turn it one, he tells me to please gorge his eyes out for him! *lol* BB is crap but it’s entertaining crap when you see how really really up-yours these people can be. They are just SO full of it la….
Are you a BB fan?

I bet that will get me some quick but totally irrelevant traffic. Hehehe….sorry people, especially those searching for the actual thing BUT it does have to do with this topic I have in mind.
Quite a couple of years ago, I did walk into the actual House Of Condoms in Penang. And if memory serves me right, it was either in Prangin Mall or One-Stop in Pulau Tikus. Then again, it could both be the wrong place but rest assured that this place existed, don’t know if it’s still standing or not la.
Anyway, when I paid that place a visit, I saw the works! You name it, they had it…from dolls to toys and of course, numerous types of condoms - you’d have a tough time even picking which color you wanted! Then it got raided and everything except the condoms were confiscated. I bet I know who had a whole lot of darn kinky sex over decent period of time, eh? *hint hint* Anyway, the whole place lost a lot of interesting things as that was what was in the news and I guess, a place just full of condoms can’t possibly be THAT interesting right? I wouldn’t really know coz I never went there again but it did strike a thought in my mind. What’s wrong with owning sex toys? I mean seriously…..if it makes your sex life more interesting and happening, what could possibly be wrong with it??
Please feel free to correct me but I think even adult magazines like Playboy and Penthouse aren’t allowed into Malaysia right? If you try to bring in it, I think it will get confiscated at customs, if they find it that is. I say this because someone offered me a ‘business’ proposition - a very dodgy one mind you. When I first made my way out here for a holiday, a friend of mine told me to get a bunch of Playboy magazines and bring it back for him because he wanted to sell it here and he knew that he could make a big buck out of it and I bet he would have since it is banned here. I think anything that is banned here and is available for purchase through other methods is a sure-deal money making scheme. I guess when such a taboo thing is up for grabs, who wouldn’t grab it, right? Typical human nature….
Anyway, I refused him flat out because I just couldn’t imagine the malu-ation I’d be put through if I got caught and there was no way I was going to risk it no matter what. Can you imagine being pulled aside and then the contains of your bag spilt out and out comes a whole bunch of dirty mags???? OMG…..just shoot me, why don’t you! But funny enough, I don’t think I would feel as bad if I had to unpack and I had the lot with me here because of how people deal with such things. I mean it’s no biggie here at all. You can get all the adult magazines you want under the sun, at the local news agent and even my bookclub sells a couple of kinky sex toys too. I mean it’s really NOTHING at all but haiyoo…..back home, sheesh….Hedo is a VERY lucky girl!
But isn’t it bizarre….? Did you ever wonder why the government bans such things? I do and I don’t think there is anything out there explaining why adult magazines and toys are banned. If you know of any document out lining why sex toys and adult magazines are banned in Malaysia, please let me know - I would like to read it. Perhaps because they are banned that people go way out of their way to get their hands on it. Like I said earlier on, if something is able to make life better, no matter what it is, why ban it? I know that to a certain extend, sex can be a taboo subject but let’s get real la, it’s a very hot topic of conversation and action from ages 15 years onwards ok? Don’t pretend as if it isn’t….didn’t most of you find the first chapter of science in form 3 the most interesting?
By the way, this was back then when all subjects were taught in BM, ok? Don’t even get me started about the kids here - it’s quite a worry, REALLY. And despite that, toys and adult magazines are openly being sold. On the other hand, back home, the same thing is happening too BUT no toys or such magazines are being sold openly. In fact, I don’t think such things are being sold at all, at least not openly la.
So why the ban?

Ok, I give in. I can’t live without the internet. Today marks 2.5 weeks since I last logged into my everything - 1) my emails : Lord knows how many thousands I have now. Thanks goodness they did away with the 90’s email storage space. What was it? Like 1MB or something??, 2) my FB account : I have most likely got like a couple of thousand invitations and an equivalent or more number of pokes to poke back. Thank goodness that it’s something which I can just ignore with just a click of the mouse, 3) my Postcrossing account : my sincere apologies to those who have sent me cards which I couldn’t register, I bet those people are super mad at me, and 4) my Scrabulous games : I think I’ve lost them all and am at the bottom of the ladder. BUGGER!!
Anyway, to be totally honest…from #3 onwards, I continued writing this post on 10/5. So you can imagine how long it takes for me to complete a post and this is without the net. Lord knows what is going to happen once it get connected. I’m really missing the cyber world.
*sigh*

Ted here! I still get to go online from work.
We have yet to finalise a broadband plan at home, so no net access for Yvy atm
but I am working hard on fixing that. Unfortunately all the broadband plans either a) want you to bundle a bunch of stuff (we won’t) or b) are wireless, and since we tried wireless and couldn’t even connect, and our mobile fones are both getting crap reception at our new unit (despite being on the top floor) we are not impressed with either option. Bugger.
But its a major priority and at least our new PC is all set up ready
Should be back online soon.
O and Kecik is doing fine, very cute, very cheeky and settling in to the new house pretty well. Not perfect but she is sleeping through the night in her new room, so thats something

Who would have thought that discount furniture shopping would be that interesting and to add to the surprise, the number of furniture that is there to choose from…..? WOW! I personally think that discount furnitures can be a great buy and worth every cent.
At least it wouldn’t hurt as bad when your cat decides to use the legs of your dining room table as a scratch post or use your sofa legs for sharpening her claws. It also wouldn’t hurt so much when your new pup decides to ‘bless’ your fav love chair too.
After all, you can always get another one and maybe take the chance to change your furniture as well. It’s a win-win situation.

OMFG….it’s still autumn but according to the weather (wo)man, April 2008 has been the coldest one in 57 years!! What is wrong with the weather????
Aiyoo…..I know I complained about the heat and humidity in Kulim and I expected it to be damp and cold this autumn, but seriously, this is just insane! It isn’t even winter yet and I’ve already got like 3 layers of blanket on my bed! Please don’t tell me to get a heater because we have one and it’s in Arianna’s room. Poor thing normally has her hands frozen when I check on her in the mornings but since we got the heater on, 3 blankets for her as well and not to mention that I do get her rugged up in 2 layers of clothes, both of which are long pants and sleeves, she’s doing ok.
We were suppose to get a dual thingy which can blow hot and cold air depending on the season but the plans as to where it was initially suppose to go did not go well. We now have to install it in our bedroom which defeats the purpose as I want it to heat up the whole unit and not only our room so that’s still pending though I hope we can solve that come winter. I’m pretty sure that Ted will find me frozen dead one of these days if we don’t get this done soon.
Suprisingly, despite the cold, the sun is out for most of the days and that is when I go crazy washing all the clothes but because the cool breeze is obviously stronger, my clothes don’t necessarily get dry but thanfully, we have a dryer and so that solves my problem. I think it’s hard if one doesn’t have a dryer especially living in a 4 seasons country like Australia - susah lor!!
Other than that, because of my kesian-ness for the lorikeets, I had opened the window and had to move the fly screen out of the way so I could the apples out for them, only to realised that I had knocked it out and it fell down 3 floors. I hope it didn’t make a dent in the car, if there was any, when it hit the ground. So now my kitchen has no fly screen meaning that I can’t leave it opened too big…which also means that cooking stinks up the house….and that is not something I like.
Haiz….macam-macam la.
I wish we could just wave a wand and repairs what needs to be repaired, and get our bookcase/shelves up, get all the boxes unpacked and in it’s place and that dust won’t dare show it’s face here but sadly, these are things which won’t magically happen so we’re taking out time to fix things up and of course, at our pace, both physically and financially la. Think I growing money on trees ka?
O well, any ideas on how to decorate my home arr? I would prefer decorating it with the least amount of money la, hehehe…..preferably with the things I can find around the house as it is.
I’m sure there are some great ideas out there you’d like to share with me right?
