The one thing that I really appreciate to be holding a PR here in Australia is that our medical is subsidized by the government. And once you reached your safety net, you get further discounts. And with medical bills that tend to cost an arm and a leg for most of the time, it is a much appreciated privilege in my opinion.

Not too long ago, we had to visit the paed for KR and that first visit cost us well over $180 but with Medicare, we only had to pay a small fraction of it and really got a whole chunk back. I guess some health plan also offer that and if you are looking for such a thing, perhaps looking into Blue Advantage might be an option. After all, if you can save a buck or 2, why would you not look into it?
