….and MANY, MANY failed test to finally passing and getting my drivers license!!!
Yes, took Ted 7 years of constantly prodding and heavy hinting to get my license and although it took that long, I’m glad I’ve done it coz it’s now over and done with for the next 5 years. For the record, after each time I was told that I had failed, my confidence level would drop and drop and drop, till the last test, it was rock bottom. But my instructor was most confident in me and so was Ted – he always was, just those RTA testers that were so picky!!
In fact, I was so overwhelmed to find out I passed that I had no feelings whatsoever, it was as if I was just over it. lol I was too happy that I felt nothing. I guess I was so used to failing that I just assumed that I’d fail again and to be told I passed, took awhile before it sank it. Can I just say that I have never felt my throat go so dry before? Even after the test, it was hurting! LOL
Now that I can drive, I must say that it’s rather liberating to be able to just up and go wherever I want, whenever I want (provided I bring the kids along – it’s Ted’s T&C apparently!). And so far, I’m slowly conquering Campbelltown. I’m truly very happy! Now Mum and I can go shopping in peace. lol
O, what an excellent birthday present I must say!
