We’ve been busy these pass few days house hunting as our lease on our current unit will be due pretty soon. Even though the landlord is willing to sell the unit to us, there are a couple of issue we have to solve first before actually deciding to purchase this unit. I’ve been busy surfing real estate sites looking for units around the same area we are in because I’m simply in love with Parramatta and I really can’t imagine living any where else. We’ve found a couple of potential unit which we have written in to get more info but the ones that we’ve actually looked at can’t compare to our little cozy unit.
I think there are a couple of reason why and among them is the fact that I’ve grown accustom to our little cul de sac. With 2 balconies, one looking out to the occasional bronzed bodies of guys and gals frolicking in the pool and the odd topless lass children splashing in the pool during those hot days and the other to this guy who isn’t quite right in his upstairs and is some form of entertainment for me especially when he ‘fights’ with himself out loud [I know I'm cruel to say it but let's be honest here, people who talk to themselves look funny, ok?], it’s hard to find another unit just like this or better.
Despite it being a little small for our little family what with Ella who will soon be crawling and all, it’s a little sad to leave this place. One part of me really wants to stay but staying would mean that there will be a need for some major renovation because I really can’t stand the bathroom which is kind of dinky and Ted, well…let’s just say that he’s raring to tear the kitchen apart! He seems to really hate the kitchen a lot though I don’t see anything wrong with it other than it being really ugly. Other than that, this place is so close to everything - convenient store, Pizza Hut, KFC, Nando’s, a major shopping complex + cinemas, rows of cafes and bistros and the primary school is merely some 5 minutes walk away! O, I forgot to mention that the video store is just around the corner too. With all these and the fact that Ted’s work place ain’t that far from here either, it hard to leave this place.
BUT on the other hand, a change of environment would be good too and additional space would certainly be most welcomed. The sad thing is, such units are way beyond our reach financially. Here’s an example….the current unit we are in cost about AUD10k more than the actual unit that the landlord wants to sell which is the middle unit where there is only one balcony. We are in a 6 unit block and we are out at the back and on the top floor - a penthouse like unit, and not facing the street which is AWESOME since we don’t really get the noise from traffic. Not that there is a lot of traffic in the first place…
Haiz….so I really don’t know what to do OR expect. If you’re wondering if I’ve started packing up just in case… No, I haven’t. Truth be known, I don’t even know WHERE to start in the first place! But if ever we have to move, that is in the event that the issues that we need to resolve can’t be resolved, then it will be the unit in the next street provided that it is better or at least as good as this unit. Fingers crossed that it will be larger at the very least … please pray that the best outcome happens for us coz I really don’t know what to think any more…. pening!!
