I dont know if I’ve blogged about this but I thought I mention it again. :) The whole of last week, I was on a rabbit’s diet but I guess you could also call it a colon cleansing diet coz I was mainly on vegetables! That whole week, I had salad and a little bit of roast chicken and on Thursday, I had salad as well but with Tuna instead of chicken. I thought it wouldn’t be able to keep me full but boy, was I wrong!! Just in case, I even had backup food like loats of muesli bars, Up n Go [a sort of breakfast drink] and fruit. I was that scared of getting hungry. LOL

Anyway, my salad consists of carrot, cucumber, alfalfa, tomatoes and roast chicken. And on another day, it was the same except that I added fresh mushrooms and used tuna instead of chicken. Apparently the thing that kept me full was the protein from the chicken. So healthy right? lol If you knew me, you’d know that this is not what I normally eat, heck…I honestly feel like a rabbit! But my sis said, to make me feel more sexy and better about it, I should say that I feel like Jessica Rabbit! :P

Although I wish I could carry on this diet, I think I’ve had enough of it for now. On Monday, I’ll be taking ham sandwiches instead, I think I need meat. I miss it!

Since I was a kid, I always had skin problems. But mine is more of acne than anything else. This is something I couldn’t run away from as both my parents had them growing up as well. How I could have done without it during my teenage years coz I truly suffered. Teenagers can be cruel and on top of that, the need to be ‘in’ a group/clique was something that was a must back then and more so now, I think. I thought myself as the odd one out most of the time. Sad, isn’t it? Teasing was merely the tip ig the iceberg!

I don’t know what to expect with the girls though. I don’t know if they will suffer as I have or be lucky enough to not inherit this ‘curse’ from me since Ted didn’t really have any skin problems at all. The only skin problem they have suffered from is eczema which is relatively common in kids. I won’t bore you with any eczema pictures as I don’t think many people would appreciate seeing a pix of a skin disorder but it’s really not that bad la. It’s more like a rash or patch of dry skin. My cousin had it really bad as a child but have since out grown it so there is hope! :) Apparently this is due to the skin losing moisture so technically you can keep it under control if you lather on a lot of moisturiser. And I have been doing this coz KR seems more prone than Arianna.

In any case, I really hope that they will be ok and not suffer like I have.

Forget about all those fancy-smancy fitness equipment that you see all over the place, online and offline. Why? Because nothing beats taking and making full use of Bus #11 and it’s free! :)

What is Bus #11, you say? Simple – your 2 legs!! :D Yup, nothing beats walking from point A to point D – through point B and around point C to get to point D. :D Actually, this is pretty much what I’ve been doing since I don’t have an Ozzie license just yet. My only new year resolution is to get it before I head to Malaysia in May. I am very famous for putting things off till the last minute but believe you me, procrastinating this time around will not do me any good coz I realised many times now that I’ve got 2 kids, that time is very much the essence.

More often than not, I find myself kicking me coz I don’t have a license but have to go out to the shops. So I have to walk…in the stinking heat sometimes. All my fault really, if I had the license, I could take the car, right? And I prefer to go shopping on my own than have 2 kids tagging along so my time is limited and I shop with utter and total focus if I might add! No such thing as window shopping for me, and thank god that I’m not really into it either. LOL

To be honest, all that walking although if I could, I would avoid it, has done me some real good. Last week saw me wearing a pair of short jeans that I couldn’t fit into even after I had Arianna so, as much as I dislike it….. I’m beginning to see the benefits!! Hence, I can’t wait to start work so that 1 hr of daily walking will definitely be in the books! :)

They say that you learn something new everyday and you know what? I couldn’t agree more! :) Sometimes you learn something that brings about a positive effect, and other times, you learn things the hard way, through certain painful experiences. But I kind of like the ones where you chance about some info and realised, OMG….I didn’t know that!

And this is one of those moments. :) I didn’t know that human growth hormones can do wonders for you. I mean, I knew about the effects it had on the body per se but improved skin condition and enhanced performance? OOooo….how very interesting! :P

I know that I said that I wouldn’t have any resolutions for the year except the one where I want to get my license before I head of to Malaysia but then I realised that there is a mini resolution that I’d like to take up too.

This is actually because I’ll be heading back to work soon so that’s why one of the diet aids that I came up with other than walking to work instead of taking the bus is….bringing food from home like more salads and fruits, and take sandwiches instead of buying food from the canteen. I mean I absolutely LOVE the chicken kebabs there and I may allow myself to have a few sticks but I really ought to keep it to a minimum coz not only am I adding to cost financially, it will make my weight sky rocket again and I so do not want that.

So home made cook, you’re it! :)

Ted and I talk about weird topics all the time. Out of no where, one of us will bring some bizarre topic up and we’d discuss about it. Sometimes it’s something silly and sometimes, it can get quite serious. This was one of those middle range topics. :P

We were watching a show on tv and I happen to mention that the celebrity there, I think it was Englebert Humperdink [Thank God it's only his stage name although why anyone would want this name is beyond me!] looked as if he’s got too much Botox in his face that his skin looked really taut and smooth as if he’d stretched it too much. Anyway, we began talking about cosmetic surgery and some of the things we shared was that if you took your child to get his nose fixed coz he had this humongous thing protruding from his face, people would cut you off from society because you’re a monster for doing that to a child.

Yet, if you go to a dentist, say NJ Cosmetic dentist to get your kid’s teeth fixed and into say, braces…it’s ok coz everyone wants their kid to have nice teeth. But isn’t that also cosmetic surgery? Hhmm….food for thought, right? People rather their kids have nice teeth than fix a 10 inch nose knowing full well it’s the nose that is going to cause the kid grief at school, not his teeth. Truthfully, I rather have buck teeth than having to lean forward to see my toes!
