Safety takes on a whole new meaning once you have kids and in fact, with kids…it’s always safety first. I can’t explain how important it is for adults to know First Aid at the very least. Ted’s got his certificate but he needs to get it renewed and me, I am ashamed to admit that I’m not certified at all, let alone to handle any Burn care issues. We have been blessed in the way that we have not needed to face such an event (and we’re certainly not looking forward to it either!) with the girls but only mainly because I’ve got a gate to keep them out of the kitchen where most accidents happen.

And when it does, it’s always a good thing to be prepared with a completely up to date and recently restocked First Aid kit. I reckon no First Aid Kit is complete without a stock of Burnshield in there. From what I’ve read, it’s an excellent way to protect and treat a burn immediately and I’m certainly keeping my eyes peeled for this Burnshield the next time I go shopping for my First Aid items! ;)

The medical world of today is changing so rapidly that there is always a breakthrough in various diseases and research on cures are always being done to help improve our health through either medication or procedures. Every day there is talk about a certain medication which can help improve ones quality of life but the problem is, they don’t necessarily come cheap. More often than not, new medication is always very expensive and a lot of people just can’t afford it. With the economy not fully recovered, many are resorting to cheap supplements. These generic meds may not have the same name but it sure does give you the same result.

In the beginning when it first started out, I was skeptical about cheap supplements because I didn’t know if they’d work. In my mind, you get what you pay for, so cheap didn’t really equal to the best. But I soon change my mind when people started talking about generic medication and even my in-laws who have many meds to take are also getting the generic medication. And since my mum is suffering from arthritis, I’m going to suggest that she start taking Glucosamine Sulphate which I can quite easily get for her from our local chemist. She’s coming to help me with the new baby in October so I’ll talk to her more about it then.

Take a look at this picture and you’ll see what I mean by ‘pitiful’.

home2

Yea, this is Kathleen-Rose caught in action (for lack of a better word) sleeping while sitting up. I reckon she must have fallen asleep while playing and didn’t really have the time to lie herself down. So pitiful!! She looks as if she had spent the whole day on the elliptical. She actually looks really tired here.

This is the first time I’ve ever since her in this position. It is a rare shot because even though she is 13 months now, she prefers to just lie on her back and wait for someone to come get her, rather than to sit up herself. This new development of sitting is up is VERY new as she only started doing it here at Mum’s place. Heck, she’s ever showing signs of crawling NOW despite the fact that she can actually walk a fair distance if you held her arms. I call her a lazy bum but the in-laws reckon that that’s purely intelligence at work – why bother crawling/walking when you can be carried from one place to another?

And you know what, I reckon they are right. :P

Tell you a really funny thing….you know how I’ve been walking to the station and back for work right? Well, thank goodness I have been doing all this walking coz I actually feel fat these days. The funny this is that my clothes still fit BUT my weight has increased. Weird right?
According to Ted, it’s because I’m losing the fats off my legs, thighs and bum from the walking but not doing much around the waist, you know? I’m sure I could lose more if I controlled my sugar intake along with all those other must-not-eat munchies that I’ve been having sinfully! :P I bet if I continue the way I am, even that new diet pill my cousin swears by can’t save me!

Honestly though, I really do have to watch my sugar coz I really don’t want to end up getting diabetes. I’ve seen how troublesome it is and omg, I’m really not up to taking all those meds either. I’m utterly hopeless when it comes to taking meds. So, yes….I will have to watch what I eat and I will Ted those fluffy cuffs I bought to that I wont used my hands to stuff my face with food. Heh. :P

I guess one day hopefully in the near future is when scientists are able to segregate that nasty gene which sends our teenage hormones out of whack and gives teenager those horrid pimples, will be the day to go down in history.

I can’t imagine the positive impact it will have on teens and the emotional torment they will not have to endure. I hope and pray with all my might that my girls don’t inherit this dastardly gene from me coz I’d have for them to have to go through what I had to, you know? Like I’ve said before, if you could take away the pain of someone you love, you would but more often than not, it is never possible. And pimples are simply one of the rites into adulthood, I guess.

Keeping that in mind, perhaps its not such a silly idea to look at some of the accutane reviews that my sis has been telling me about. Both of us suffer from acne so you can see why we’re always on the look out for something that works. I best be off to check out those reviews and see what they’ve got to say.

I’m not shy to admit how old I am coz to me age is just a number. I will be 32 this September and I can’t believe that I will be turning 32! *lol* Thank goodness I don’t feel 32 but still feel as if I could take on the dance floor at the club anytime. I think feeling and thinking young helps you be younger as well, if you know what I mean.

Being only 32, I dare say that I am surrounded with more old people than I am with people my age. People I work with are mostly elderly folks and I’m talking mid-40s onwards. And on the family front, Mum and ILs are also elderly folks and while they are a great source of wise advice, they also share all their aches and pains. :(

Because you love them, you wish you could take away their pain and suffering. I feel very sad when I hear them tell me this is aching and that is not well, medications aren’t doing their job and all that. And while I am not surprised because these are all cause by advanced age, part of me wishes that someone out there would come up with a miracle cure-it-all so that I could go and get a bunch of it for them, you know?

I have an aunt who used to be SO active in so many social event and community work because her heart is good like that but because of her severe arthritis, she has had to knock back so many things that she loves doing. She loves painting and so good at it too. And that too has decreased tremendously. She’s tried so many sorts of medication but no joint pain relief seems to work and I think that is just so unfair especially for someone like her because she really does do a lot for the community. Last I heard, she’s busy trying out another sort of craft that didn’t require too much hand movements which will be good for her so as to keep her occupied.

So you see why I don’t want to grow old?
