SS : Super weekend!!

I had one of the best weekends out ever since arriving here in Sydney. It was simple and most well spent! Although I went to work around midday on Saturday, Ted fetched me at about 3.45pm and we were off!

We parked nearby St. Patrick’s Church and then took a slow walk down to Circular Quay. I must say that this outing was a surprise so I didn’t bring my camera and Ted forgot to bring it for me. I was thankful that my camera could take snapshots of this and that BUT today when I tried to upload the pix, stupid card thingy didn’t work!! :grrr: There goes all those shot I took of Sydney Opera House and what nots. *sigh*

Anyway, after that nice evening walk, we attended mass at 6pm and after our spiritual appetite was filled and satisfied, it was time to feed the physical appetite! We couldn’t decide on what to have so we just walked about a bit and bumped into this really nice and cosy little Italian place called Caminetto in The Rocks. It was about 7.30pm and the crowd was slowly pouring in. By the time we got a seat, the line behind us began to snake. After about 15 minutes or so, Ted’s pizza and my penne with boscaiola sauce arrived. Looked delicious and my tastebuds are still tingling from just thinking of that plate of heavenly, creamy and cheesy boscaiola sauce. It was SO damn good that I’m so going back there again!

And that was the end of our Saturday night out. Sunday was really fun too!! We had planned to go to the beach and seeing that Saturday was suppose to be cloudy, which it wasn’t, we decided that we would go on Sunday - which we did. I prepared a little something small for lunch - Mum’s famous fried pasta and some fruits for us to dig in at the beach. And at about 10.30am, we pushed off. We arrived at Newport Beach at about 11.30am or so [only because we had to stop off at a pal's place to collect some documents]. The weather was great! We sunscreened ourselves up and just sat down by the beach. I didn’t really feel like going in coz it was SO windy that day. So windy that it blew my cap off and it smacked someone in the face!! Damn paisey….. But overall, it was nice and after our little lunch, we took a walk along the beach with the waves of chilly seawater breaking at our feet. The water was damn cold wei!! I wouldn’t want to be jumping in that water at all…..*shiver shiver* Managed to take a couple of pix. Hope you like it!

How was your weekend and how did you spend it?

Waves

My favourite pix of the lot!

Seagulls!

I swear these seagulls must have gotten a whiff or 2 of their fellow brethren off us! I managed to get a pretty close shot.

Newport Beach

Between the bottom and top pix, I prefer the colors in the top one. What do you think?

Newport Beach

Peekaboo!!

The day wouldn’t have been completed without this sighting!

G’day ya’ll! Hope your weekend’s been a great one. Saturday morning brough on a sweet surprise and the true meaning of when patience pays off.

I’m sure you would have noticed how often I speak of lorkeets and you’ve also seen some pix which I put up over the weeks. But yesterday was the breakthrough! Look what happen…..finally. :dancing:

Patience pays off!

Ted took this for me. After awhile, I had both hands out and birds eating out of them.

Sweet!

This I took myself - literally up close and personal! These birds were eating out of my hand!!! Amazing…..I also managed to take a video too. Scoot on over here to check it out. [Visi, dun jeles hor... :hehe:]

Up close and personal

Eye-level shot - I was right up in front of their faces.

Another happening thing happened on Friday. As you know, I’m a temp in my current office and I guess it must be coz we’re heading towards the end of the project that on Friday, we had drinkies in the office at about 5pm-ish. Rumours have it that we’ll all be around till Christmas and if we’re really lucky, some of us will be hanging around till March. But not all of us will be around till then, so the management had a little thank-you-for-your-hardwork get-together for everyone and drinkies were served. I would have loved to post up pix of me and my mates but some [well most of them] are not too happy even when I took the pix so I’m not risking putting any up BUT I do have a good shot of the most prized trolley.

Drinky drinks

This was the a shot I took as I was going home, it was filled when it first arrived at our floor. We had red wine, white wine, beer and orange juice (??). It seems that our hardwork was a success that during some high-profile dinner the management had on Wednesday, even John Howard [Yes, THE John Howard, Australia's PM!!] congratulated us on our success at handling this T3 thing. Wah….so proud lar me!!

I’ve come to realise that I hardly have time to post up my weekly FF anymore. I’m in the midst of considering Sunday Shutters (SS) instead. It does after all stand for Sweetest Sin AND my favourite club, Slippery Senoritas. This is a test post to see the response but frankly, I think whether it’s FF or SS, as long as pictures are involved, no one really cares, right? :hehe: In any case, hope your weekend’s been a good one.

Here are some shots I took when Ted & I went for a picnic in Parramatta Park last week. We were suppose to hop down to Bondi today but the weather is a bit chilly so we’ve stayed in instead. Dont know if I’ll have pix for next SS though!

Parramatta Park

Parramatta River - trying to get a scenic view. Nature with civilisation in the background.

Parramatta Park

Nature at its best and another attempt at capturing a scenic view. Is it working??

Parramatta River

This was me trying to re-capture a view I once took but obviously the technique didnt quite work. I wanted to capture the reflection of the trees in the river but tak jadik!

Cam-whore!!!

I think that after all those snapshots, I deserve to be in one as well. Cam-whore!! :hehe:

Special addition :

Baby India

Beauty and the beast - Blue eyes baby India [Ted's friend's daughter] and her siblings [in the background] at our home. She is SUCH a bubbly baby. Always gurgling and coo-ing away. SO CUTE!!
